He has been MIA and went dark on

Just be aware
communication w this guy sucks
and you Don’t FUCK w peoples money!!
CRITIZEN

You know we all take That risk paying PP FF with no safety net to the buyer.
The thing that pisses me off
I’ve been here almost 20 years
I have had my share of thieves and cons
However you study the seller and it’s a true trust thing!!
The money is important!!
Getting over someone doing this
Just PISSES me off!! And force to have no dealings
NO MATTER what your f&$#&&$ excuse is..
everyone has a phone And not responding has secured my belief
PLEASE put this guy on the ignore list of yours
One or two percentages of folks are assholes!!
the balance are good folks.
Just watch your back you all with Friends and Family payments
Rethinking things in this regard as well!!
Stay Safe
Thank you all the Moderators that make this place what it is !!!

Gizmoman Gizmoman Don't beat yourself up about this too much. The seller was a long time member and after 11 years of membership one would never expect a deal to go south over a lousy 90 bucks.

It continues to amaze me how people are prepared to trash their reputations over such minor things.

Because of the tax implications more and more people are refusing PP G&S and only accepting F&F. it makes it harder when you want something and you cannot get PP protection. The scammers know this and will take full advantage.

I still say a members post history is a good metric for their commitment to BF and the hobby. A quick at Critizen Critizen post history shows almost no interaction with the forum outside of the sales areas.

I am also trying to get my money back for a knife Critizen never sent. He has ignored every single message I have sent him in the last 2-1/2 weeks. He said he was having personal issues so I was patient for the first couple weeks when the knife was delayed, but how hard is it to respond to an email? I haven't been here very long, but this is my first bad deal on BF. Everyone else I have dealt with has been top-notch. I won't let this guy spoil it for me, but I will exercise a little more caution going forward.
I sent him one last message this morning, which is his last chance to avoid negative feedback on our deal.

(EDIT): After I posted this, I did get my payment refunded.

Keep an eye out next week on your PayPal account, the OP stated this happened to him 10 days later:

“Refunded my $90
10 days later PP reached and stated the refund source was bad”

Paragraph #2 is exactly why one shouldn't go off paragraph #1 or some other set of qualifications to judge whether to use f&f. We see too frequently it happen. People are in good standing til they aren't, and there are plenty of old/high rating/well standing members that for one reason or another end up with someone's money or knife they shouldn't.

Always use g&s.

Hope it's a mistake and you get your money back.

In the years I have been active on BF I have seen very few long standing members with good feedback, active outside of sales areas, have any kind of problem. When they do have a problem there is usually some external complicating factor.

The vast, vast majority of members here are good honest folk. I have completed hundreds of transactions over the years and never had any problems.

Although I only use G&S there are many members, including you, that I would be comfortable with a F&F payment to.

Perhaps I am naive but I continue to give our long standing members the benefit of the doubt.

A short poll…

When or if the mess described above is sorted out will his excuse be…?

A. computer problems
B. Vague “personal issues”
C. Illness, his own or a family members
D. A rotating series involving all of the above, none of which happen be true or relevant.

On a related note, who doesn’t have personal issues? I know of no one who hasn't been thrown a curve ball once in a while in their daily lives. And why do these ”issues” always occur when the person going thru them owes another person(s) money? It’s a mystery…

For those that DONT KNOW
EDIT---PP F&F became "Prevalent" because of the $600 or more now being reported to the IRS.

As for Gizmoman Gizmoman getting burned ........

Yeah, it really is a measure of the character of the seller, when it comes to how they deal with "personal issues" that cause delays in shipping or refunding of bad sales. It's just not a priority with these guys, and eventually it's just too much work for them to deal with it or to delegate the task. That's assuming it's not a scam from the start.

Even when I was hospitalized for 3 weeks in 2014 after a big car accident, I was able to get a $5000 electrostatic headphone system packed up and shipped out to a buyer without any delay, thanks to my son who was happy to help out in exchange for a few extra visits to the sushi bar as reward.
