CRK or Strider

What you're telling me is in direct contradiction to what they put in writing...is that right? It makes no difference to me as I haven't done anything to void my warranty and yes I own one of their products. (Yes, just one...the only one that interests me) The real point is...if they put that in writing...why would anyone question it? (they are rather adamant of those points)

Yeah, pretty much. Spend some time on the green forum and you'll learn real quick what they WON'T do, which is pretty much nothing. I've never seen or heard of an instance where strider refused to fix someone's knife. Think about it, a company as polarizing as strider would have TONS of heat on them if they refused to fix a knife. We would have all heard about it over and over again by the strider haters.

I own a Sebenza and have owned a SnG. Instead of thinking about it as a luxury/sports car vs. Hummer H1 comparison, I like to think about it a Range Rover vs. H1 comparison. Both are going to do pretty much the same thing. Both do certain things better than the other, but for 99.9% of people functionally they are the same. Only one gets you there in refined style, and the other through brute force. Neither style is right or wrong, but a matter of personal preference.

When I go to the grocery store and the teller asks, "paper or plastic?", I say yes because either is fine. Therefore my answer to this thread is "yes".

I tend to agree pretty closely with this. I own a large Sebenza and I've handled and toyed with a few Striders (and will probably eventually get one). I think the differences are sometimes over exaggerated. The Sebenza is much tougher and sturdier than it often times gets credit for, and I haven't found a single activity even outdoors or in ranching that I would even remotely hesitate to use it on. Conversely, when I picked up my first Strider I was expecting it to be a brick and difficult to pocket, and was shocked at how light it was and how easy some of them would be (especially a CC SnG) to EDC even in an office environment. Both are great, strong, brilliantly done knives. Both have very loyal fan bases, and sometimes people really do enjoy both equally or close to equally. I don't think they are as different as you may think, and its hard to go wrong with either.

Another +1

I think the biggest factors in eventually making the decision to part with my SNG and keeping the Sebenza (now had its place taken by the Ti-lock) was the blade length and blade effectiveness. I just felt if I was going to carry a knife yay length then I want the most blade for what the handle can carry. Furthermore, I found the thickness of the Seb blade to be better when cutting/ slicing than the SNG. If you don't plan on hacking down trees or much prying then why need such a beefy, thick blade? At the same time, the SNG just has that cool factor and it's stonewash and blade finish are top notch.

This post ^ is why I'm tempted just to carry my good 'ole A G Russel Cowboy slippie.

IT DON'T MATTER. Both knives cut, both knives have ti framelocks and both are good quaility. I had a lg sebenza and traded it the day i got it, no joke. Buy which one feels and looks better, I think striders do.
