I have pretty much decided that my next knife will be my first CRK. Although not 100% sure, I am heavily leaning towards a Sebenza 25.

A big part of the decision process for me was coming to terms with the fact that I will actually be able to carry and use (not baby) $400 knife on a daily basis. It will get scratched, dropped, and actually used. I think I will be cool with that, but it has taken a little while to get my hear around that. With that in mind, I was curious about how many folks here actually use their CRKs. I see so many pictures of amazingly beautiful CRK safe queens, or knives that are carried but apparently seldom used to do anything more difficult than open a letter. I seldom see a pic of a CRK that has evidently seen hard use.

So, post up your pics of your bruised, used and loved CRKs. I don't have one yet, but promise to post a pic of mine after I get it and it receives its first scar.

The carbon fiber and damascus both hide the wear on this knife pretty well so I'm sure it doesn't appear to be as "used" as it actually is!

If you dig down in threads, you will find lots of photos of these knives in use. The so-called "snail trails' that develop on the Ti slabs are hard to photograph, so even knives that are daily users, may look more "pristeen" in photos than they truly are.

Sebenzas make great daily use knives. The 25 is a little heavier than I like to carry regularly, but is no slouch if you like a stout blade. Mine gets pocket time with me on occasion:

I bought a large 25 two days ago. I looked at the 21 first and then the 25. No question about it. The dealer said he would put it back in the box for me.. LOL! I said it was EDC and going right in my pocket. I'm not sure he was used to that behavior. No scars on mine yet.

Alclark2, congrats on your new purchase! I am envious that you got to do a side by side comparison. No one in Phoenix (that I can find) sells CRK. I have handled a 21, and from all that I have read and seen online, the 25 will be a better fit for me and my needs. I hope I am right.

All of those pics are great! Keep them coming!

I had to do a lot of searching. I stumbled upon a new shop that had CRK on their website. The shop was going to attend the local gun and knife show. They had 6 different knives at the show. I'm a "touch it before I buy" kind of guy so I couldn't get myself to buy online. Good luck in your search for a 25.

My 2 most carried EDC knives. Sorry for crappy pic. Snail trail really don't show up that good in pics.

I'm in your boat. I'm hoping to acquire one next month. It's been hard as a lefty to get the knife I want. Still debating on what style to get. But I really like the small starbenza. It comes with double thumb lugs and all silver hardware. Super sexy!

Mine has seen quite a bit. I'm giving it a break for a little while while the new Umnumzaan get its workout.

Here's my overworked and over sharpened 25. Goes with me every day in the shop. Might be about time for a new blade, you think?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1421764414.299714.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1421764262.654153.jpg

I got it new in Dec of '12. I know you may think it's been over sharpened but let me explain that this knife cuts anything! I even use it for cutting thin electrical wire and what not so it sees the sharpener quite often. If I get a knife I use it! ;-)

It's just a case of heavy use like I said but I will add that recently I was in a knife shop and they offered to sharpen it. I was on an extended trip and didn't have a sharpener and it was pretty dull. So I said sure and when it came back it about made me cry! He ground so much off at the heel that it wasn't a straight edge on the bottom anymore! Needless to say I bought a sharpmaker and do my own on trips now. NEVER LET A KNIFE SHOP SHARPEN YOUR CRK UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW THEY DO IT!!!

Putting the Umkhombe through its paces this weekend:

The coating on the blade is TOUGH! It has been working pretty hard since I got it and there's not a single permanent mark I can see. Sure it's only been a few weeks but I've seen other coatings ripped up after a single outing.

You should have seen it before this guy wreaked havoc on it. I use an edge pro on my sebbies at home so it was sad to see what 2 minutes of belt grinder can do...
