CRKT at Lowe's

Breezed through my lowes, didn't see any. What department have you seen them in? I assumed they would be by the tools, or close to the registers.

100 knives per store is really out of bounds. Reality would be more like 5-20, depending on the sales volume at the particular store. At my local store, I have seen a Ripple, Crawford Kasper, and a Drifter. They are broken down into "red" and "green" with different knives in the assortment. I believe the red was at a $20 price point and the green was about $30.

I'll double check tomorrow when I go back to work there :D

So are they the liner lock Ripples with the crappy finish or the newer framelocks with a little better paint on them?

I picked up a Ignitor-T / no serrations. Also started seeing Shenanigans. These packages had a blue stripe and were $40.

Hi Jamboi - Just want to confirm these are not seconds or promo knives. They are legitimate CRKT knives and tools. Thanks

I just received a CRKT Onion Ripple that came without any markings whatsoever. I purchased it from OpticsPlanet, a reputable source, and was wondering how this happened. Does anyone think it may have any collectible value?

I don't think the monetary value of that knife is likely to increase much if at all, given the country or origin and the existing price point. The knife may be collectible to someone that is interested in any and all things Ken Onion, but it's likely going to stay where it is. As for OpticsPlanet, they've been hit or miss. I wouldn't wholeheartedly call them reliable as that is a bit of a stretch.

That's good to know about OpticsPlanet. I think I will be returning the knife for one with the proper markings. What are your thoughts about LA Police Gear. I had them price match a Zero Tolerance ZT 0301 and have been very impressed with the knife. Actually, more than impressed as it is now my EDC. I love the tiger stripes and the looks I get when I flip the blade out. I've been eyeballing one of the Hinderer designs and been lusting after the 0888. What do you think about ELMAX blades?

I made a purchase from them one time (LA Police gear that is), and it went well. It was a common item and was readily in stock. The packing was good and shipping was timely. I know that if you have questions about products they sell, they do respond to emails and can discuss over the phone. That is a good sign and provides reassurance for customers.

I like Elmax, it's been comparable to S30V from what I can tell. I have not had the edge rolling or chipping like some folks reported. It does hold a reasonably good edge when used for extended periods. I did get one knife with Elmax that dulled pretty quick though, after a few uses. It disappointed to some extent, but the next knife I got did not exhibit the same behavior. I think if you like S30V, then you would like Elmax.

Saw this thread this morning, ran by lowes at lunch and this followed me home. They had 4 models, all were on sale.

Seems like a nice flipper, no blade play, flips pretty easily. Factory edge was sharp (popped hair), but didn't slice receipt paper a well as the Volt II that has been being used for 2-3 weeks since sharpening and was just used to open the packaging. So idk how I feel about that. Guess I'll touch it up with my felt belt and see what I think.
