CRKT fans?

The new Ken Onion designs are simply awesome. People either love his organic style or they hate it. I don't own any as I've been on a knife buying hiatus for a while, but they are awesome nevertheless. I also like the Johnson Kangee T Hawk is cool.

One of my favorite knives is a CRKT.

Hello...
I guess I've been lucky, I haven't had any trouble except for a hunting folder from a different company.
My CKRTs have all held up well... The one I carry everyday has had no issues...
I have & like my Kershaws, and OKCs& Ka-bars but have only owned fixed blade versions.
Good luck with your Career bud!
That's a valiant occupation. I wish you the best!
Two EMT's saved my life back in 1998, I would still be dead if not for them.
Take care eh!
I feel the same way! I stopped carrying my M21 for awhile because it got dull, and despite all my efforts to sharpen it, I couldn't restore the edge. I found out that I was sharpening at the wrong angle (sharpening noob over here!). Now that I have practiced, and sharpened it with the correct angle on a Arkansas stone, the edge is perfect! It is a real fast one to sharpen too. I got it hair-shaving sharp after only a 15-20 strokes on each side. It also is beat up with scratches and wear. It just adds to the sentimentality of the blade!

Thank you! I love EMS. I already have a job at a ambulance company, and am stocking ambulances until I get my EMT license in about 4 weeks. Then I will be put right on the ambulance full-time! I'm glad to hear the EMTs were able to save you. I hope I get to experience bringing someone back soon!

I did my best to just stop at "I like their fixed blades. Their folders aren't for me."

TBH, it would take quite a bit get me to buy another one of their folders. We're talking about a company with QC so bad that Chris Reeve pulled his collaboration because of how awful they were.

One might say "that was years ago!" - true, but they still kinda suck at making things with moving parts.

It's nice to see all the different opinions on here! It's cool to see fellow CRKT fans like myself, and interesting to read about the not-so-good experiences some of you have had. Like with any hobby, to each his own. Some of us like knives that others don't.

PM me your address; I will send you a CRKT Outrage to evaluate (and keep or sell or give away or whatever)--no strings attached, I promise! I think you might like it. I have way too many knives anyways, and selling them is becoming a chore.

I recently picked up a Swindle and love it. All of the details are what get me for sub $40. I would pay more for better steel though.

I have the 3" M16 and it is used as my "don't want to cut anything with my good knives so I'll use this one" knife. That said I actually do like it for what it is. It's pretty tactical looking and scary to the common folk, but it serves me well. The knife that's gotten my attention and I'm wondering if anyone has one or has an opinion on it is the Tighe Rade. Kind of a nice looking design and I'm a big fan of one handed opening and closing knives like Spydercos compression lock and benchmades axis lock so the button style appeals to me. Anyone have any comments on this knife?

I think they have great potential but many of their ideas fall flat through cost cutting measures. And they often don't to variants of popular models. They also seem to be very hesitant to use premium materials where as other companies who have far east factories make their knives do so quite regularly. I like the price point of many of their models but I would prefer premium options at an upcharge. IMHO they are a company for those who like the looks of a high end knife in a cost effective package.

Try Liong Mah's GSD, I think you'd be surprised by the quality.

I have exactly one. I once had two but my brother stole it from me. :D

Sorry for the terrible pics.

I'm new here, so forgive and correct me if there has already been a post about CRKT. My everyday carry blade is a CRKT M21-12G. I own a multitude of blades, including a Spyderco Delica 4, but I always keep coming back to the M21. I just love the sturdiness and ease of sharpening. It's not too high quality of steel (8CR14MoV), but it handles every task I throw at it. I beat the crap out of it and it stays in great condition! what do you think of CRKT?

ston- I love the Shizuka No Ken!
Tradition Japanese handle and blade and a framlock to boot! Try one.
