CRKT fans?

I have the fluted Swindle, the PECK, and a few of their fixed blades. The Swindle is a solid knife, good flipping action, and the 12c27 Sandvik on the fluted version works quite well. The latest CRKT I got was the orange-handled Burnley Obake, it's a great little kwaiken.

This is really cool.

I feel the same way! I stopped carrying my M21 for awhile because it got dull, and despite all my efforts to sharpen it, I couldn't restore the edge. I found out that I was sharpening at the wrong angle (sharpening noob over here!). Now that I have practiced, and sharpened it with the correct angle on a Arkansas stone, the edge is perfect! It is a real fast one to sharpen too. I got it hair-shaving sharp after only a 15-20 strokes on each side. It also is beat up with scratches and wear. It just adds to the sentimentality of the blade!

Thank you! I love EMS. I already have a job at a ambulance company, and am stocking ambulances until I get my EMT license in about 4 weeks. Then I will be put right on the ambulance full-time! I'm glad to hear the EMTs were able to save you. I hope I get to experience bringing someone back soon!

Thank you H_G!
I'm usually glad they saved me too...
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you sure have a polite manner, and common sense!
Inquisitive & non combative!
I think you are just the kind of level headed person to accel at your chosen profession as an EMT!
I wish you the best of luck & success!
A pleasure meeting you!

Thanks to you all for the welcome! I know CRKTs aren't the highest quality out there, but I believe they are the best value for the money. I prefer not to buy a knife over $50, due to the field I am about to enter (EMT). Ambulances and scenes are very well known for consuming personal items.. I own 3 CRKTs (M21, M16-10KSF, Minimalist Bowie), and all of them work to my expectations!

I carried a M16-02 and a CRKT Prowler while I was a medic. Love the Prowler and still enjoy the M16.

If you ever want to try something different than CRKT for a budget rescue knife, may I suggest the Byrd series from Spyderco. Also, Spyderco offers the Clip-it Rescue for a little more than fifty bucks. IMHO, it is a much better rescue knife than anything CRKT offers.

You are so right about personal gear disappearing. You want something that will hold up but not cost you a fortune in case it gets left behind when you transport. Now days I carry shears and
a Benchmade strap cutter.

My all time favorite rescue knife is the Benchmade Triage. Pair that with one of their Stryker knives for off duty and you are good to go. Both are priced over $50 though.

I'm not fanatical about them, but they have a few knives I like. The Ripple is sweet(I have 2 in fact), and I wouldn't mind getting an Eros. Most of their folders though, I'm a little iffy on.

I have a lot of their neck knives though-2 Minimalists, the SPEW, both versions of the Civet, couple others. Plus their Woods Kangee/Woods Chogan tomahawks are excellent, best hawks on the market at least outside some super expensive models. And while I don't personally have any actual need for a fighting/tactical knife, if I did, their new OC3 *really* appeals to me.

I have to agree here: Of many folders and fixed blades from CRKT, I found the Fixed to be among the best value and offer in the knife market. Of all the CRKTs I've had, now I own 6 fixed blades (SPEW, Minimalist Tanto, Bowie and Wharncliff, Hissatsu and Ultima) which I love, and no folders (although the Otanashi was decent, the best of all)
The Minimalists see daily use, and the Hissatsu is the best-concealable and most comfortably carried big fixed blade I have. It is an excellent design IMO.
Most CRKTs are excellent designs, their collabs are awesome, but they just lack QC and overall quality for the price in most cases, folders especially.

I have 3 CRKTs under the radar, though: Minimalist Drop Point, Civet and Obake...
So, yeah, I guess I am a fan.
