CRKT is ****!

REDRAT,
My Murray has been going for 17 summers cutting 2 acres w/ no major problems. Just the general matience that you seem to laugh at. I could care less about your John Deere.;)

Glad to hear your Murray is running good mine also runs good i am a tractor mechanic so i know how important it is to keep up on the maintenance i just don,t think a knife should rust that easily or break like they do if you want to laugh you can laugh at how i cut my fingers on my m16 cause of a bad liner lock or how my new kasper started to rust while it was sitting on my desk at home i won,t mind :) i have a few crkts i would not speak up if i didn't i also have many other brands some are good some not so good but none as bad as CRKT ... i don,t mind spending 100.00 for a work knife i know will be there when i need it with out having to stroke it everyday

Red,

Would never laugh at a man w/ no fingers. It also sucks that your casper rusted laying on your desk.I see and understand you have some 'issues w/ CRKT.

I was not referring to a CRKT knife in my post, I was referring to one made of ATS-55 by another company. It suits my purposes to the tee. Therefore if I have to do some PM on it ...so be it. It works well for me. It was not a K-Mart special either.;)

Hope you got you fingers 'sowed' back on.

Hummer, I have never had a rust problem with any knife. Keep it clean and wipe it always. I use high-stain carbon steel kitchen knives, they see a lot more moisture than any other knife except for diving.

That said, CRKT bead blast finish ***** (sucks). I won't get another CRKT knife until they drop the bead blast fetish. (Such as on the otherwise excellent Apache series.)

I would buy a small and a large S2 if they would only drop that crappy finish. :barf:

IN reference to the CRKT rusting after being exposed to chlorinated water, the culprit is the chlorine. I am retired now, but have had extensive experience in working with welding pipe and structural steel around where chlorine was being manufactured. Iron or cast steel will rust severly around the liquid or just the fumes. Any stainless that has a very small amount of iron content will rust readily when exposed to chlorine. Most piping was Monel or Nickel for that reason.

Eye buk "O" the old fingers are good as new sept for the blood letting every hour but thats the way it is when you use Crkt Thanks for your concern the tractor forum is yet to be opened so lets stick to the thread subject OK... Thank you very much :)
now on with the show !!!!!!!!!!! ding ding

I do not use cholrine in my pool, I use Bacqucil. The main ingredients are hydrogen peroxide and believe it or not, a PH balancer with very diluted Muriatic acid. Drop a knife in my pool and you best tuff-cloth the heck out of it or the blade will stain and rust. All Bacquicil products WARN about the dangers of steel/metal damage and the need to have your pool water in perfect balance. It does not harm the skin,it's like bathing in Hydrogen peroxide, but try dipping any knife in 27% Hydrogen peroxide and watch it foam on the steel and then wipe it dry and TRY to even OPEN it in a couple of days.....wolf:cool:
