Does anybody else think that this knife:

(http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/boker/images/112.jpg link to page: http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=BOP112) looks like the bastard love child of a CRKT M-16 Special Forces and a Strider SnG? I'm curious to see what you think.

Best wishes,

That thing does indeed look like the fruits of the "love that dare not speak it's name." What a TOTAL POS :barf: !

So now Boker is ripping off Strider and CRKT simultaneously? Did they get bought by Fiskars or something? Lame-o. and a lame looking knife to boot.

I am with SpyderJon on this one.:barf: :barf: :barf:

What a RIP-Off! The blade, right down to CRKT's knurled pivot sctew. Cheap POS!
Not much threat to Strider's market, but Buck and CRKT should be Pi ssed, unless some kind of deal was made. And I doubt that.
Don't you just Hate F'kin RIP-OFFs?

What do I think?

In order:
  • Yuck.
  • Ugh.
  • Pathetic.
I could go on, but I think you get the idea... :thumbdn:

Wow, you'd think that by ripping off TWO decent knife designs in one, they'd at least come up with something that doesn't look like a tactical brick.

I love the part in the blurb where they make subtle references to their connection to THE ARMED FORCES. I have to admit, if you can read that bit about their "well-known business partners in the Far East" with a straight face you're a better wo/man than I. Of course I'm not in THE ARMED FORCES, but if I were in THE ARMED FORCES I suppose I might stop down to the "supposed px" and look at one of these. That's of course if I were in THE ARMED FORCES. Yeah....sure...

With German background and Far-East business partners (Taiwan?) isn't it possible they just misspelled FARCES?

Uh its atleast 3 actually, it is useing a large flat head pivot screw and similar clip fastening style as an emerson. which combined with the cqc style blade makes em think that a little bit of emerson got thrown into the mix.But to say that it is a pos because of that isnt quite right. Chris reeve was the first to use an integral/frame lock, now many high quality makers use it. Using what works isnt wrong, but it does look to be free from any form of personalizeation. For instance im making my own fixed blade and my design is based on the strider bt, but it isnt the exactly the same. these features are exactly alike. Not a hint of actual design, more like a cut and paste. i think that you should use the best desgign you can even if someone else has done moast of it already, but you have to give credit wher it is due.

im not a big fan of boker to begin with. Their designs jus tseem pointless. If you were a professional soldier with $200 buck would you buy this http://www.fortune3.com/~comp72619/Boker_Linerlocks-Boker_EFD_Escrima_Folding_Dagger-.html

sorry for the long post

Yikes!!! I've never seen a px carry boker. Up here they only stock cold steel and a few crkt. At FT Benning at least they had enduras and griptillians!!
