CRKT or Ka-Bar?

for my edc i would go with the m-16 without a doubt. Now if your edc might need to skin a rhino, cut firewood, and whittle a sheep out of a chunk of hickory then you might want to go with the mule. for me the crkt would be an easier knife to edc. Hey get both and you can swap out. later, ahgar

I have an M18-02, which is like an M16 but smaller and the etgonomics are a little different I believe. It's everything I could want in an EDC.

The mule has always caught my eye because it looked sturdy and very comfortable. Overall though the CRKT seems to make a great EDC.

I'll be picking up a mini-pika soon too so we'll see where that goes.

I'd take the Mule. CRKT has been on a very quiet cost-cutting mission and it's showing in many of their current production knives. (I love their Desert Cruiser, however.) Other good (big) folders are the Cold Steel Voyager and the Vaquero, both with AUS 8A blades.

Ka-Bar Mule. CRKT has some very serious quality control problems as reported in many posts on this forum. Some are satisfied with CRKT knives but apparently many have problems.

i dont think either are made in good ole USA for the record . ive used both and didnt really care about either of them. if you have to choose get the kabar , dont buy the crkt junk.

I have the M16-03K, which is the aluminum handled, EDC one, AUS8 and when it was my primary EDC, I loved it. Actually - it's still one of my favorites (I have a 100 or so folders:) ) I have "others" now so it doesn't see as much pocket time. I have been looking at the Mule for a while now - locally, I've seen only the combo edge ones. I've picked one up and played a bit with it and I think I would take it over the larger M16's. Just feels better from an ergos standpoint. To me, this would make a great hard use folder. I haven't decided if I want to add this one yet but I'm thinkin........ I have a few larger folders and despite the fact I don't use them that much, there's just something about a larger folder.......:)
