Thanks for the review, Gary, really good pictures as well. I've been on a quest to find the best non-assisted flippers for some time now and I've been combing these forums for information like this.

Ever since I purchased my ZT 0801, I've eschewed the spring assisted knives. I just have an appreciation for a well executed flip opening knife and would like to find more. I have a CRKT eraser on the way to me right now, as I was impressed with it's action, and although I tend to shy away from too many CRKTs, I may be adding this to my collection before too long.

Thanks....'V' sorry can't pronounce your name ;) but it is a slick knife for sure, well designed and thought out, I recently sold mine but still would recommend it to all, I just needed funds for something else and that presented itself :(

edited to add, welcome to the forums too !

Thanks, Gary. I did end up getting the Swindle and love it. I just need to get some Locktite to keep the pivot from crawling loose on me all the time.

I bought one back before Christmas, I think. It's been sitting on the counter beside the Edge Pro, awaiting time and energy to sharpen. I'm not a fan of factory edges. Those guys who sharpen for the factory aren't usually terrible, but I do a better job since I have the time and I know it's my knife.

Anyway, finally got around to sharpening it and I'm impressed with the 12C27 steel. It sharpens like 154CM for me. That is, it gets unbelievably sharp! I know there are other steels with better edge retention, etc, but I wasn't expecting this kind of experience. Or maybe my limited talents only flower on this class of steels; my girlfriend's Rat 2 is AUS-8 and it, too, is ridiculously sharp.

For a knife that I got for her to carry in her clutch purse (not a lot of room to begin with), I am very pleasantly surprised. It flips sweetly, has a tip a needle would envy, sharp as a razor (quite literally), and elegant good looks.

Total winner.

Thought you guys might enjoy the follow up.
