Definitely going to need one of these. Most likely will get the micarta one.Kizer just released their new Assassin folders with 2.99” Nitro V Blade, Clutch Lock and three different handle materials (Micarta, Ultem and CF/G-10) for $69! They’re available at various dealers (I checked).

Could not disagree more! Different strokes and all that. To me the Griptilian is one of the best looking, most ergonomic, most useful, and most practical knives on the market today.I own a Griptillian 550 (with the opening hole) and I can't bring myself to use it. The action is really nice, opens and closes like a dream, I especially like how the blade just folds back into the handle without any bounce at all - to clarify, my Manix 2XL kind of bounces back when it's closed a bit too rapidly (I need to be really careful when flicking it back to avoid that).
The thing that bugs me about the Grip is how cheap it feels and how ugly it is. It looked way better in pictures and silly me waited too long to return it so now I'm stuck with it ...
I enjoy the CBBL immensely, especially because of the strong spring and in my opinion, crossbar locks (and it's derivatives) are a great lock-type.I've my fingers crossed for a Sage with a CBBL someday![]()
Which is the right version to get?

I think the Grivory handles look and feel great.
Is G10 or CF better? Sure, but also heavier and more expensive. There is something special about Benchmade's Grivory, and Valox for that matter. It's light, durable, economical, and nostalgic.
I feel the same way about Spyderco's FRN.
The collectors seriesWhich is the right version to get?
That sounds like a good solid quality lock if you don’t mind me sayingCJRBs crossbars are…rough. Their springs are entirely too heavy and unadjustable . I bought their Hectar Alt with their new proprietary steel. I had to replace the springs with ones I got from the Reptilian
