Cru-ware vs Rex-45 experiences.

I can’t believe the exclusive cruwear pm2s are still in stock! It’s so tempting to buy a second in case something happened to the one I have.

I have a feeling that has mostly to do with the fact that Cruwear has already been done in the PM2, the scales are black, but most of all the smooth scales. I'm not a fan of smooth scales at all so its a deal breaker for me.

Id love to see a CQI Military with DLC Cruwear and the stajdard grey G10 used on the last sprint. And The Native and Native LW definitely need a Cruwear sprint. Manix LW would be great too. And looking forward to that Cruwear Micarta Shaman!

Yeah, it’s definitely a different smooth than the shamans smooth g10. If it were the same texture as the shamans, it’d be perfect. I’ve thought about hunting down some regular production black ones. I’m pretty sure someone has a set leftover from adding customs.

I think I may have gotten the last one in stock when I ordered about this time yesterday, they're now showing shipping in 5-7 days.

Congrats! It will serve you well. That also makes my decision to buy a second a bit easier.;) Now I can focus on the red para3 coming out this month. :D

I got a para3 in maxamet.

Rex45 has been tested by a few guys. It's very good stuff so far.

What an incredible testing video...seriously, you KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT AND DOING...I never post shit but I couldn’t not tell you how impressive this was to watch. Wow!!

I've got a shaman in rex 45 and one in cruwear....both are great steels but the rex is just a lil ahead of the cruwear in my experience...can't go wrong with either of em thou

I’m heading straight to bento and buying a para 3 in cu-wear and Rex-45, RIGHT BOEN. TIRED IF WAITING!
You can certainly spend your money however you want, but 300 bones for a Para 3 Cruwear is crazy IMO. If you put the word out that you were looking for one, I'd be shocked if you could not find/get it for less than that.

Bro, how kind of you! I’m quite tech savvy but I never got into social media much. How could i get the word out, what would you do?

Bro thanks again for helping me here. I truly appreciate your kindness to go out of your way on this. I’ll do as you say right now.

I have lots of REX-45 already and my first Cruwear arrived today and is waiting for me at home.

I really want to know about the differences in edge stability and fine edge holding.

Well...

Well...your thoughts on the CRUWEAR?

I really like it so far. The edge that comes up is amazing. I have not had the opportunity to use it outside of light miscellaneous tasks.

I have off today, plan to carry it, and hopefully will be able to find a way to dull it.

If your experience is like mine you will find them similar but that Cruwear is a less “extreme” steel. It’s edge holding is roughly like D2, it’s easy to sharpen and is reasonably that resistant.

Rex45 on the other hand is way more aggressive, it also rusts a lot easier. Both of these are run at the high end of their hardness, but that’s a significant difference with Cruwear at about 62 and recent Rex45 having been tested at 66.5 (!!!)...can’t go wrong with either really.

I've only used Cruwear, which I like a lot as a great all-around steel. Good edge retention, decent corrosion resistance, easy to sharpen, and decently tough (compared to mos stainless steels). Rex45 seems interesting because of it's excellent edge retention, but also it seems to be really tough, especially for a knife run at 66 hardness.
