Crusader Forge Metro Tactical Folder

Wait, wait, does this also apply to a full on custom knife? I thought it was common practice to pay the full fee upfront for a custom knife?

Nope, for an unusual item that would be hard to sell to someone else, I take a materials deposit, so at least I am not out materials, but the knife gets paid 24-48h prior to shipping. I provide the receipts for the materials as well, so the customer knows I am above board.

Someone please post a photo of this sought-after folder?

Thanks.

This is from an older thread of mine. Not my knife. I believe its a VIS T

Thanks, mildot. That's a nice folder.
Has anyone else checked out the Crusader Forge website and liked what they saw?

I am really digging the Crusader Forge folders. I have never spent that kind of money on a knife, but I think I am ready to go for it. I grew up in St. George, UT and will be home visiting for a couple weeks next month. I was thinking about calling and seeing if I could stop by their shop and sit down in person to make an order. Not sure if they would make time for me or not, but I would love to talk to someone face-to-face. I saw a green G-10 Metro TAD edition on youtube that I really dug. I plan on actually carrying and using the knife if I get one. I know that is probably crazy, but those suckers look like they're built to use. I'm thinking a Metro or FIFP with green or tan G-10 with a flipper. I would love to hear more about anyones experience ordering/recieving a Crusader Forge knife.

Well I'm envious of your excitement, for me next month will be a year, and still no firm delivery date?

Dax- This.^
mil- Yer CF time is close at hand.
I have over a year for my CF.

Me too.. Next month for me will be 1yr ago that I ordered my Tanto VIS-T flipper. I have my fingers crossed that there are no delays.

mine is two weeks from being finished and may be up for sale, ive waited so long that im pretty much over it.......

Gang- I really think these knives will be worth the wait.
Just have a few knives to hold you over. :D

I just put my name on the list. Was quoted a 24 month wait. I was prepared for that, kind of a set it and forget it thing. Im like you lycosa. I really think it will be completely worth it.

I guess selling it once you get it is a common thing, I asked about cancelling once the 6,8, 10 month deadlines passed, I've been there to watch CF go through everything from setting up for a "lefty", dealer orders, the Gathering, to the flu. Once the penalties were factored in, I was told to wait and then sell it to recover my cost?

Mildot326, I would love to hear more about the ordering process. Penalties? Would you mind giving an overview of the ordering process, pre-purchase customer service, your take on business end of the opeation, etc.?

Well going in you know that it could be a year wait. I emailed every month, and paid up front. Most of the people I talked to did the same and waited a similar time. That said I considered cancelling after about 6-8 months since I ordered in March and wanted the knife for the summer time. I don't know if they would start a knife without payment? Here's an email expressing there terms;

My recommendation since your knife has been started is to receive your knife and sell it for double the money on e-bay. If you are sure you want a refund I will have to deduct the service fees as stated on the web site. Just let me know what you decide.

I'm kinda in the position of seeing the light a the end of the tunnel, however I don't have a firm delivery date? last correspondence said check back in a month. Overall reviews of the CF operation have been positive, I had one comment from a member on M4Carbine, who said ship the knife or reverse the charge on the CC?

Well I just sent another email to Kathy, next week marks the one year anniversary of placing my order. While I realize that it could take up to a year, I believe that it's reasonable to have a firm delivery date after that passes, if not I'm considering a refund. However I think that will come with some sort of penalty. Am I "off side" here?
