Cruwear Manix XL

Thank you ! It‘s a Krein „K9 Dingo“.
Thanks, I will try to find one. BTW, the titanium ball cage looks great on the Manix. I will be upgrading one soon but not sure if I should swap the scales. They are a bit slick.

I was debating on the scales, too. I did replace them on my Cruwear Manix 2s as well. Decided to keep them - they are kind of unique, and the clip helps with the grip.

How do you think the Manix 2 compares with a Spyderco Stretch 2 XL in size and handling with the same steel?

I assume you mean the Manix XL, not the Manix 2.

The Stretch 2 XL is more delicate, but a better slicer. Almost an ounce lighter than the Manix XL, thinner blade (thinner also than the Military), Manix has a stronger lock and more blade height. And finally, the Manix is made in the US, the Stretch in JPN, if that matters to you.

You need both ! :)

Very nice knives in thread. I just ordered a Manix 2 XL from Kaviso. Has anybody bought from them before? I was torn between the Cruwear and S30V. Kaviso had the S30V for the same price as the Cruwear so I bought it instead. I may have to get a blade in this new steel as it seems that it's a hit around here! But first I;ll need to buy the Shamen!

I'll take Cruwear over S30V everytime without question.

I guess my next k ife will be with this new steel. Do they make the Shaman in Cruwear?
Because that is my next knife. I just received my Manix 2 XL and really liking it. So smooth in operation.

Yes they did, AFAIK 2 Cruwear versions and one Z-wear (basically the same steel). But expensive now since releases were very limited.

Cruwear and Z-wear.. "basically the same steel", on paper.. In real life, I'll take Z-wear Every time!

Not a put down on cruwear... Just saying Z-wear has a leg up, in my book.

I dream the day, Spyderco releases more models in Z-wear!

TiCN Smock? Kapara? Slysz bowie!? C95!!! Sage 5?

Sigh, looks like some research is in order before I buy, lol.

Don't worry, per Larrin, CPM Cruwear and Z-wear are basically identical, just from different companies. Of course, heat treatment might varry a little from knife to knife.
