i have posted idears on how to be happy in ordering
well from what we have heard over time from joe, is that part of the issus was
that many of the steels were in short supply and not a steady ariveal like every two weeks it they cant buy it it is not their falt..
so if they use some of the exotics on re do's then if they run out, well ...
they are jest out....not enught to go around kinda sorta """""""
why do we have to hear all this belly, full of gass, acking ....

"i ordered a bg42 on a NEW Custom Shop Knife and did not get it because mr. X got an up grade!!!!

i sent a knife in for a bg42 up grade and i did not get it 'cause mr. Y ordered a full custom!!!!
i want this steel why dont you have it so i can buy it..
each is then mad at JOE !!!!

So then we have grown men crybabbying (maybe jest older pre teens )
and bitching in a public forum that they did not get what they wanted and
mad about it so they are bad mouthing Joe and Buck over it in a known knife
communanty ... ugh ... or should i say play ground!!!!!!

he has other work besides playcateing complainers and whinners

customer relations is NOT a sole job of complant department!!!

he has to deal with other customers questions like =
"is our 10,000 count 112 knife order going to be here on time for christmass shoping? "
some of you are even here complaining that wally dont have what you want!

but yet here he is HERE..
concerned that a single order of ONE customer on his ONE knife
because he is mad cause he got s30v instead of the other...
(a dammm good steel on par with bg42)

every one of you need to be HappY that a VICE Presadent of a company would
take the time to address the concerns of jest
ONE customer with ONE knife....
EVEN if that one PERSON is not you that day or even the next day...
is it not good enught that at least there is an effort made to try ????
that you have a real true chance of being taken care of jest like SMKW?

try that with SMKW and see if the vice pres will answer your email!!!
try that with case...
or any other internationa knife company...
try it with Puma on an internationa setting ...
if you do come back here and let me and every else here know
that you got a vice pres of an international company to take time to answer you personaly...

I have to agree here......Thomas W from Kershaw took off for awhile due to all the complaining about items that had very small issues. Buck and Kershaw are a few of the knife companies out there with good customer service departments and most of their knives are still USA made, so I agree.....cut the bitching about the little items.....

he is in to it and here cause he wants to be
and his life might be easer with out bothering with us
buckcases but any thing fun is worth the effort
and he come here to have fun like we do...
he jest happens to work at buck so he does a bit of

if i took your electric golf cart to were i worked and fixed it

I think company reps are usually cautious about getting involved in public forums to avoid getting wrapped around the axil. I appreciate Joe's willingness to post here. It can't be as much fun for him as it is for us.

If I have a problem I contact Buck, not a public forum...
there has been alot of this going on here as of late and I prefer not to see all of it :D This is supposed to be fun... Joe has TONS of work on his plate and griping about Buck on here doesnt solve anything, besides that how many guys post on BF Buck threads and how many customers does Buck really have? I realize that there will always be problems but do the select few customers that frequent BF get (deserve) top priority? I am not the only guy in the universe and I have patience...

Buck could go fully corporate and have voice activated prompts for issues, on-line complaint forms, help desk run from India, yada yada. Would run up cost of doing business. Resulting in more imports and less human interface.
Choose your problem.

HOWEVER, when placing an order on-line or by phone, I do think that you should be asked if a substitute is ok if a certain option is not available by the time your order hits the line. Would save a ton of frustration and ill feelings for both the consumer and Buck.

well about this here place,
i went back and look up all the old timers postings i could for quite a bit... i have so little mind left i can not quote them.
but the impressions i got stayed
the people whats in charge at buck
DO READ here...
some things here have been on the board table with the powers that be discussing them....
this place is consitered a predictor of public opion.

if we are at a store and a stranger is looking at some knives and we seem to know some thing have you not been asked about what you use?
i have... if i am unhappy i can un sell as well as i can sell
if i sell some stranger he may sell some one else
if i un sell that also may spread
it is your collectors and nuts that help keep your product alive!
word of mouth by the fatefull... each preaching lowd and clear the words from the book of buck...
if you have an issue with one nut getting mad cause another nut got some thing he did not then you dont want a mad nut rolling around...
the ones not mad wont un sell, the ones mad will...
so you dont do it any more so the one nut dont go mad on you and un sell via bad mouthing...
and they espley lissen to the BCCI members as they have ponyed up and paid to be called buck collectors! and yes bcci members are spechel to buck... they do want the proved collectors happy... after all they paid good to be part of the offical buck club...
its like haveing a FOP member ship card next to your lisence when you are pulled over...
it gets noticed when you have that bcci # after your name on some thing that comes in...
not that we get any thing extra mind you ...
but belive you me, it is noticed!

so they do read and lissen and it gets discussed
that i do recall came from a post by chuck buck...
 
And what happens if you read complaints here and then ask your people if they've received any complaints and they say no??? IIRC, you're the one who said Bucks phone system is out of whack...if they're not telling Joe the problems because no one can get through to them, then the complaints never get addressed, the problems never get solved, and no one is the wiser...

That's just one example of "what we have heah...is a failure to communicate"...

If my pet project was getting complaints I would want to know about it...If it was Idaho Bell's fault, I'd want to take it up with them...If it was a faulty switchboard, I'd want it fixed/replaced...If it was someone making decisions they weren't authorized to make, I'd want to know that too...

Don't be getting down on people complaining...You pay your money, you've bought the right to complain...Complaints are what identify problems...If you're not getting what you paid for, there is a very real problem...
