cry babbys exit here

And what happens if you read complaints here and then ask your people if they've received any complaints and they say no??? IIRC, you're the one who said Bucks phone system is out of whack...if they're not telling Joe the problems because no one can get through to them, then the complaints never get addressed, the problems never get solved, and no one is the wiser...

That's just one example of "what we have heah...is a failure to communicate"...

If my pet project was getting complaints I would want to know about it...If it was Idaho Bell's fault, I'd want to take it up with them...If it was a faulty switchboard, I'd want it fixed/replaced...If it was someone making decisions they weren't authorized to make, I'd want to know that too...

Don't be getting down on people complaining...You pay your money, you've bought the right to complain...Complaints are what identify problems...If you're not getting what you paid for, there is a very real problem...

...$.02 please...

My point then is to call Buck - not a public forum...
I have always gotten through to Buck, whether it be a voicemail with my opinion or an email or an actual person...
When I trade or buy on here I post in the W&C section,
I would think Buck would like to hear the gripes or accolades themselves not second hand.
Just my .02 worth :D
If I buy a Dodge product do I call the Chevrolet dealer to ()*^&*$$$*&(&*$3
or do I call Dodge? The 100 people that post to the Buck forums here are maybe a small % of Bucks customer base... NOT that they arent important but come on now, lets cut them a little slack... I AM NOT BUCKS only customer. Its great to think I am, but this is the real world, and Joe does one helluva job at trying to keep everyone happy... I wish every company tried as hard as Buck does to keep all their customers happy...
I cant think of too many companies that will bend over backwards to fix a problem on a LIFETIME warranty of their product... Joe does just this.
I dont know what everyone expects. World peace, end all famines, destroy the AIDS epidemic, every Buck knife is perfect in every customers eyes...
Good LORD!
again just my .02 worth :D

My point then is to call Buck...

wh4f - The example I used was reported here several times by 334dave as being a malfunction in Buck's phone system that they were not aware of and which they don't seem to be able to fix...IOW, they don't even know someone is calling...Several people have commented on being put on hold, being disconnected, etc...Buck doesn't know they are cutting off customers, and the customer doesn't know Buck doesn't know...

I only found out about it by reading the complaints of others here...including 334dave, Buck's # 1 supporter...

Now if I call and am told I'll be connected to someone else, I call right back and ask for that person/department...

I don't know about you, but my time is valuable...TO ME!!!

What is the difference if you sit on BF and complain OR call them it still takes time? Then I can talk to a real live human too.
I call often and talk to real people, I dont understand the problem of "phantom" calls... Maybe my phone is just "magical".
I am not picking on your post Trax, I am just saying that there are other ways to figure out a problem. If it were a perfect world every customer would be happy, but sometimes it does take a little extra to get the problems sorted out! My time is important also, but I am still not their only customer...
Patience... Email is not a good way to work out problems, just look at the posts that go on BF, people misconstrue them all the time, talking to a real person helps immensely. If people never want any problems or anything I might suggest to never buy another product from anywhere because we all have different ideas how something should perform. People will never be "all" happy.

Jim:

I don't think Joe is the one to blame for the quality issues. I am merely speculating here, but I truly believe that Buck was not able to cull the workforce they thought they would be able to in Idaho. While it is saving them money, it is costing them their reputation; slowly but surely. If you smack a dog too many times, it won't come back to you either. Granted, the majority of Buck owners do not post here, but that doesn't mean they are not out there and displeased either.

I realize this also! But I am saying call Buck then...
IF I ordered a custom knife from Buck and it was not up to par you can darn sure bet I wouldn't be waiting for an email and then crabbin on some forum on the net, I would be on the phone like yesterday. I dont care how valuable my time is! IF I spent X amount of dollars for BG-42 and then received ATS-34
I would be looking for my refund not crabbing that my emails aren't returned. That is no way to solve a problem...
There are several ways to get ahold of buck email isn't the only option!

My time is important also, but I am still not their only customer...

wh4f, you are the tip of the iceberg...the other 90% is never seen...or heard...but it's still there...

Businesses know this...That's why they take "polls"...

Does anyone at Buck take an interest in this Forum??? Not if only one or two people post...and the other 90 or so just lurk and say nothing...

And about emails...I got an email from Sarah that had a Microsoft Office attachment...I thanked her for thinking of me, but since I don't use Office, I couldn't read it...Sarah sent me back a text version...

So someone at Buck reads emails... :)

If you cannot get a response from email, try using the telephone...

...Jim...I gotta tell ya...I haven't been able to get through to Buck by phone except for one time only...Lord knows I've tried it few more times than that...If there is something going on with their phone service in Idaho, that is something that could be addressed fairly easily...Joe is quite busy yet he will answer my emails...It sometimes takes a while but he does it. The phone system is another matter. That should be handled by their provider as it surely limits or eliminates a number of "Custom" orders...If we aren't getting through I'm sure others are experiencing the same problem...

I got the same email from Sarah, and downloaded microsoft excel!!!!
And yes she also resent it to me in a different format!
I am saying the gentleman who said he cant get an email response, did he email Sarah? Who did he email? If I were him I would call Buck. If it is a goof up they will fix it, dont just crab on BF....

Dave I agree with you 110%! Thank you.

Dave,
You have a heart of gold my friend but....I have to agree with Mr Chickentrax.
If I can't garantee that I can do these special little things right, I should not do them rather than frustrate a lot of good people.
Also, I would really hate it if forumites felt they had to candy coat everything they post here. Hearing the good, bad and ugly is all important. I can't tell you how much it frustrates me personally when I hear the bad and ugly, it makes me feel like I just let down a close friend even though I have never met most of those that post here. But those comments are necessary in order to ensure that it does not happen again down the road.
To be honest, the compliments embarass me because I know there are those that may still feel let down and I know there is still more that I should do. Also, IF the knife they have a problem with is actually due to a manufacturers defect, should I really be complimented for fixing something that should have been right in the first place?
Your opinions may vary but that is mine.

And by the way, I am not a VP, just a lowly Director. But thanks for the promotion, I will strive to deserve it! :D

Trax sorry I gave you a hard time. You have the right idea!!!
Boy I cant wait to to post how I really feel now :D Just kidding (LOL)

HA HA!!! That is funny!
B110, the ones I hate are the voice ones, "Please say 'I ordered BG-42 but got S30V', or 'I think Joe is doing a great job'".

"You said 'I ordered BG-42 but got S30V...alright. Say '1' if you want someone to call you back, or say '2' if you really think we give a Pack Rat's ass".

I can't stand those systems.

Jim,
I wasn't talking about you, No "bad and ugly" comments from Jim allowed. Remember, if you dont have anything nice to say...:D :D Just kidding of course.
Dave, I haven't heard which slogan CJ picked yet but one of the slogans I really liked went something like, " go buy your own Buck knife son, Grandpa and I are still using ours". I may have paraphrased it some but that was the gist of it.

Oh Sorry Joe :D
I would never say anything bad anyway :D LOL
