Thanks for the many reply's, I have just tried using a scourer (its what we call scotchbrite in the uk, i had to look it up lol) which did make some progress however it is still somewhat stained. I have read up about using sandpaper and simichrome, so I think i will give the simichrome a go first and if that fails I will try the paper and then go back to the simichrome.
