CS SRK vs Fallkniven A1

My A1 is going with me on my 4 day hiking trip on Thursday. My SRK is still attached to my day pack.I don't think either knife will let you down.
P.S. where are you going to be going with these knives?is it going to be wet or salty?Carbon steel will require more attention than the stainless in the wet wilds.

Another point to consider is the tang. One of the reasons that warrant the price differentiation is the tang. Cold steel's tang is thinner and more square. There has been much posted on this. It has led to breakages in cold weather. The Fallkniven though they say is "almost" full tang it is more full than CS SRK.

The SRK was my first "real" knife I bought in 1990. I sold it around 2000. I used the hell out of it. I did loosen up the handle during a real survival situation. I now own a F-1 and LOVE it. I will also be purchasing a S-1 very soon. Much more solid and worht the extra cash!

I will say the sheath on the SRK is WAY better than the Fallknivens. But all in all an SRK is a knock off of the real thing.

I have own 3 Carbon V SRK's thru the years and to me it is a great useful knife does whatever ask without fail(Standard knife usage of course) and holds a razors edge,Decent handle and nice factory sheath.it is to me one of those knives you Trade/Sale and miss afterwards and buy it again....

I believe they have both been tested on knifetests.com, take a look it might help in your decision.

as for the cold weather im in central Texas and id doesnt get very cold around here and although it can get pretty cold i wouldnt be out in it for very long. But now that i think about it that would be fun a cold weather camping trip in Texas. I think the A1 is looking real good because of the better tang and the stainless laminated VG10 most of the time im going to be around lakes and stuff like that.

and on the knifetests.com the A1 seemed to have an easier time going through the tested materials.
