made new handle for Trench hawk , didn't like the flex of original plastic handle . I made it out of aluminum pipe walls 1/4 thick but it is heavier then original .

That's a beautiful mod! Please describe exactly what you did. I've got 2 of these things and the polypropylene handle does need replacement.
 
I like how it looks. (didn't someone on here do one with a ti handle?)

can u please make a step by step on making it?
 
A couple of years ago there was a guy who mated a SOG to a Ti handle. I think there were pictures of it in action.
 
Looks great!

The flexibility of the handle bothers me a bit as well. I understand that the handle material is supposed to be extremely durable, but I just don't like the 'bendy' feeling that it has.
 
An awesome mod. I would like to see one modified with 1" T6061 aluminum round stock.
 
Can you show us a picture from the top of the hawk and the front or back of the blade?

I have to say I'm inspired by your mods. So much infact I went onlinr and bought one to do a "Poor Man's Shrikeish hawk" out of it. I'll keep you all posted. Trix2004 can you please measure the width of the base of the hawk (on the tang??) and the thickness? Also can you measure the bottom of your handle tube?
