Doesn't a round handle give you trouble with edge alignment?

America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.
Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!
OK, As I said before you inspired me to make my own handle so here goes.
First I bought my trench hawk thinking I would "Shrike" it out.Yes you can cut the head of a Trench hawk down to this if you like.

After I bolted it together I thought the tubing I had might be a little thin, So I back filled it with 8 lbs density urethane foam. Don't Mix too MUCH!!

Now here it is in all its 22" of painted camo glory (minus the paracord wrap)

Thanks for the idea...Sorry for the crappy Iphone pics.![]()
thats 8lbs wet weight...what does it all weigh now that it is dry?
Has anyone tried drilling a hole farther down from the top one so that the handle wouldnt have to be so long? Id like to pick one up but it seems like that handle would get in the way.
I meant the placement of the top hole that holds the handle to the blade. Moving it away from the top of the axe head.
damn...I like it!!! And I thought I wouldn't be getting a trench hawk.
Now I need to find someone who can cut something like that.
I play lacrosse and to be honest i don't think thats what you'd want lacrosse sticks brake and bend pretty easily under alot of forceI'm researching it now, But I think a Lacross stick shaft would work perfectly!!
