CS XL Espada .... finally available

That's a lot of words for dodging his point: A bigger knife is always better. In a knife fight, which would you rather have, the Delica or the XL Espada?
That's what i thought.

Unless its a standup movie style knife fight in a wide open space id rather have the delica.

You guys are way too violent for me. One of the things that appeals to me about the XL Espada is that it is an excellent modern rendition of the Spanish Navaja, minus the ratchet. The ratchet kept the blade from closing accidently while using it, and that certainly isn't going to happen with Demko's Triad Lock. I've been lucky enough to attend a few seminars with James Loriega, where we studied the history of the Navajas, the techniques in carrying, deploying, and using, some of the culture where it was used, and got to see and handle the different styles and sizes of Navajas. Trust me, some of them dwarfed the XL. I think all in all, the XL Espada is faithul to the concept, and has all the attributes of the Spanish Navaja, but much better executed because of the strong Triad Lock and modern materials.

I want one of these yesterday.
There is no blade limit in Oklahoma.
The bigger the better, I always say.
Who's gonna loan me the money until I can get a freakin job?

Wide open spaces? So the prairie is the only place where the Espada might be useful in a knife fight?
Even in a cramped hallway, all other things being equal, someone holding the CS would have a huge advantage over a person holding the Spydie.

It would be fun to play with and I am a CS fan. However once a folder gets that big, I can see no advantage of it over a good fixed blade. I suppose it could be legal somewhere that a fixed knife would not be.

That is true, the bigger knife gives you more range than the small one. Range means a lot in a fight.

If I had a choice I would carry one of my Bowies concealed all the time, but the law says I can't.

This is a high quality large folder, it is not a novelty item, and it is far from useless. I have to give a thumbs up to Cold Steel for making what others won't.

This knife can open quite quickly due to the shape of the thumb disk (quicker than a switch blade) which can be used to catch on the edge of something such as the edge of a pocket to propel the blade open while withdrawing it. It would not take a long time to deploy at all furthermore the Cold Steel Espada knives that I have handled all have super smooth actions with excellent fit and finish allowing quick deployment even thumbing the thumb disk.
