Cult of the peanut , members

That was dark rainy day. I was at home after hard day at work. I opened my mailbox and seen the ticket from my post office telling that I have a parcel from China. “What is going on, I haven’t ordered anything from China.” I thought.

Then I remembered the words.
“You might not get it fast, and I can't guarantee that you will, but maybe the inner workings of the Cult will make sure it makes it's way to you. Expect a little visit from our welcoming committee, they get to travel the world... ”

This could be a message from the Cult!

And I was right, that was not a parcel from China that was from the United States. I opened the package and seen the old fashioned box, there was a little beatiful knife inside. I took a look at it and understood why it was called peanut. I opened the baldes and heard the voice of the old Grand High Muckba in my head. "Welcome to the Cult!"

Now I am a part of it.

P.S.: Thank you, silenthunterstudios!

This is it.

Does anyone have experience with imported Peanuts? (Taylor, Steel Warrior, Rough Rider).

I have a Rough Rider Peanut right here in my desk. It's as good as any Rough Rider knife. Unlike the Case Peanut this one has no half stops. When I bought it I bought two of them exactly alike. Gave the other one to a co-worker who is retired now. He used his quite a bit. I must have sharpened it for him 30 times over the course of maybe 4 years or so.

Mine still looks almost new because I don't use it. It's just sitting in my desk waiting for someone to come along that needs a knife. It's a good knife. Is there anything specific that you would like to know?

Just how they compare is all.Of course the price is good.
Thank you!
The other Rick T

:) You're welcome, Rick. I'll add that I don't see any light coming through in the backspring area and both blades have good snap. Very thin grinds too.

Rick, I've got a little Steel Warrior peanut that I bought only because it is in my favorite material, ram's horn.
Decent little knife, not quite as nice as a Rough Rider, but it was very inexpensive.

Got this beauty in the mail yesterday! My very first traditional slipjoint. Fell in love with the peanut after lurking here. Cut 2 apples with it and it is already starting to patina. Apple tasted a bit metallic though.

Came home totday and put my own edge on it. Damn this CV can take an edge :)

Good choice. These small ones are soooo handy. I used to carry larger modern autos but never again.

Hey Rick, I know this may be a bizarre thought, but what if they mae an automatic peanut?

I mean, that could put a whole new slant on "tactical".
:D

Some autos were very small. Schrade? But wouldn't a quality traditional auto be the ultimate gent's knife?

Carl..... you got me thinking. A peanut switchblade in a denim jacket pocket.Sounds like the path to adventure.

This is my first p-nut. Wanted a small watch pocket knife in stainless since the inside of my 22 magnum's backspring started to develop rust in the humid summer. Really like the ARL scales, and the knife's F&F is superb. It showed up sharp out of the box (with a large burr on the right side- every Case knife that I have bought has this same burr same side). Only one small gripe, I wished the secondary was in front of the primary with both nicks on the same side (like the #22). Couldn't pass it up for the price, and glad I was able to join the cult!

And here is the magnum that it is sharing time with:
