This photo stuck in my head so I got one in the mail yesterday. Now to build a patina.

Congrats on your incoming yellow Peanut! I've always liked the yellow Delrin on Case pocket knives. It's got a warm, smooth feel to it somehow that feels pleasant to the touch and it's just very "retro" looking to me. I've had this one 2.5 years and it's a rare day that it's not in my watch pocket.

Boy, I love a yellow peanut. Didn't warm up to the color at first, but now, out of all the 'nuts I have, I tend to carry the yellow one most.
When the color mellows out from pocket wear, and the blades take on their patina, they really look nice.

I have to agree with that. In fact, a mellowed yellow 'nut with nice charcoal gray blades may be the ultimate classic 'nut from the '50's era. To me, and having grown up in that time, the yellow handle pocket knife may be the one that most triggers nostalgic memories in what's left of my mind!
:D

I remember being a boy in the mid-60's and seeing most all the neighborhood men with their small jack knives. I just thought it was the best thing ever, still do.
A while ago we went to a local pizza place and my son needed some help getting a slice that didn't get cut completely through.
Out comes "old yella"... my boy (he was 12 at the time) says, "Dad, that knife is too small to cut anything." I just smiled at him and said, "Son, watch this".

I've always liked the yellow in fact my yellow Buck Rancher 301 has seen a lot of pocket time. It was disappointing when Buck stopped using yellow Delrin a few years ago.
The yellow looks good with the N/S bolsters.

You'll appreciate this: We're packing our home for a move. I bit the bullet and packed most of my small slip joint collection. All I left unpacked was my new 77 Barlow and... my peanut.

LOL, with that duo you're well prepared for any nearly eventuality my friend. Indiana Jones wouldn't blink about heading out the door with just those two companions!

With this testimony we now carry our yellow Peanuts with even greater pride! :D

I was afraid you'd say that. My wallet says I'll have to wait a bit. Spent too much on Peanuts this month. Ha!

That's okay, last November we moved from Maryland to Texas. Everything was packed up in miles of bubble wrap and plastic packing tape. The better half didn't want a single plate or coffee mug broken. At the other end it all had to be cut loose. Boxes broken down for the re-cycle bin in Texas. The two things in my pocket for the move was a well worn blue Leatherman squirt for screws and stuff, and my peanut for cutting. That little 'nut did a lot of cutting at both ends of the move.

It never faltered.

Two very familiar tools there in that pic!

How are you liking the yellow Delrin? To me it's an interesting feel in hand - I like it!

This peanut has scales that are called " Antique Bone ". They match my swayback gent in 6.5 bonestag pretty well. The matching shields are icing on the cake.
