I don't post much in this thread because it would be redundant. I have a little Case Pocket Worn Bermuda Green SS Peanut that is a permanent resident in the watch pocket of whatever pants I am wearing, in addition to anything else I may be carrying. It may not get called on often, but I know it's there.

The combination of thin pointy clip blade and a surprisingly sturdy little pen blade can make up for "feature deficiencies" of whatever else you are carrying. Kept sharp, it can take care of a lot of things that need a blade in many situations.

I have probably used this pic before, and the Vic Cadet is now relegated to backpack duty (still carried every day, just not in my pocket), but it shows the Peanut in its usual wingman role. It has a little more pocket wear these days (I think this is a 4-year old photo) but still cuts just fine.

I think I'm going to start carrying this peanut in my watch pocket (when I have a watch pocket) and see how it goes. Nothing else changes, just an added knife for now.

My peanut was expensive. Bought it at a farmers co-op store here in TN. Probably could have gotten it or a very similar one for less cost, but I liked this one and that's important. The conversation at the co-op was interesting.... knives and guns.... yeah!

I submit for the committee's approval a Case Select 'nut in Winterbottom Bone.

I’ve been carrying a Case jigged bone CV peanut as my daily carry for a while now. Great knife.

I just picked up a new SS one and the factory bevel and grind was terribly uneven, especially on the secondary blade. Should I just reprofile and forget about it or send back to Case? Everything else about the knife seems fine.

Case would be glad to fix it for you. They have a good reputation for customer service. If it were not to bad though I would reprofile it myself.

That's beautiful! I have the Wharncliffe mini trapper from the same series. In case you didn't know, these were produced in 2013 (there is no date stamp on them) and there were eight different patterns in the series with a run of 250 knives for each.

If I ever run into the peanut or Texas jack I will definitely add them to my collection!

I picked a yellow one long time ago, and it was very bad sharpened, as it had no apex toward the tip, for almost 2 cm, on the clip blade. Me being in Europe, it was easier to reprofile it, easy job for just the new apex and aligning the edge, and it came out beautiful, with a nice new edge, ready for some action. The bolsters on that one were a bit more "tank ish", as compared to my regular chestnut, or a pocket worn one.
