Cult of the peanut , members

he said without hesitation that the Peanut is the next knife for him. He knew he wanted CV, not SS, and when he looked at the scale options he immediately landed on the yellow delrin. That choice may have been influenced by my grandfather's yellow Schrade 708Y that he had been handling (he is after all, named after my grandfather). Placed an order without him knowing it while we were sitting here talking.

Your son has good taste, and a great father :thumbup:

Send me your mailing address - I've got a lightly-used chestnut/CV one that you're welcome to.

A very cool, classy act by another board member indeed. I myself have been the recipient of such an act a few years back. Good job, JAB.

I was carrying my chestnut bone CV peanut, inspired by Carl, this past Friday when my daughter was born. :)
It was purely by coincidence too, as her C-section wasn't scheduled until tomorrow.

If it wasn't already special enough, it sure is now!

PS- I used it to cut a couple of "tails" off of hospital bracelets that day...

Congratulations on the daughter!

to be honest now that i think about it i always carry my peanut, and even though i will have a larger modern folder i tend to reach past it into my pocket to get my peanut that was the first knife i ever bought back when i was ten. i love that i can keep the clip super sharp then the pen not so much for rougher tasks or slower people.

Great news, Smaug! Congratulations!

I have an 84mm Victorinox Tourist that rode in my pocket during my wedding and during the births of all three kids. I wouldn't trade it for a truckload of GECs.

Congratulations Smaug. Is this your first?

By the time you get to your third one, it gets easier.

Carl.

Congratulations! A new daughter! What a blessing! I hope you nickname her "Peanut". ;)

Peanut, or child? ;-)

Congratulations, Smaug!

Actually both, but I was thinking of kids. By the time we'd had our third one, Karen and I had worked out a schedule of standing watch so that neither of us did without a lot of sleep. Having Karen's sister help out was a huge benefit as well. Three people taking turns on feeding and changing watch makes it a lot easier.

Carl.

Congrats Smaug!!! Will you be presenting your daughter that peanut (assuming she has an interest in knives) when she gets old enough?

I have been carring one of my peanuts , basically without fail for 6-9 months. Normally it is my AG Russel but on occasion it is my Case Select Stag. Both are fantastic. Bit of fun this weekend. I was with some friends and one asked to borrow my knife as his was at home (what a waste!) so I pull out my AG and one of the others goes off on a Croc Dunde thing of that's not knife this is a knife. He then pulls out a big honking SOG tactical (partially serated blade of course) and says this is a knife. Now we were helping a friend clean up and were getting rid of some boxs, so I challange his SOG to duel. His starts by tearing the first box apart (ripping, not cutting) the clip on my peanut just sliced through, we kept going and I will admit by the thirteenth box or so mine was also tearing the cardboard. He finally begged out saying that this was his beater knife and was not as sharp as his others. I may buy him a peanut for his birthday to rub it in:p. Steven

Congratulations on your new daughter Smaug!!!

It seems like only yesterday my boys were born, and now they're taller than I am!

After we had our third child, we realized we were outnumbered!

Back to Cult issues: while the chestnut CV Peanut is beautiful, I already have a SBJ in the same and would like to diversify. The yellow delrin doesn't appeal to me as much as bone.

Do Amber CV Peanuts still show up now and then, or might Case choose to make a different CV Peanut sometime soon? Is there precedent?

There's also the red bone CV nut. I just ordered two of them, one will be a gift for a friend.

The really important things first! Congrats to the birth of your daughter, smaug! :) This should be worth a really nice knife you can give to her, when she can carry it herself (just my thought)

Just own one Peanut
