Cult of the Texas Jack; why should the peaNUTS get all the glory

Now that's what the Texas jack should look like, with a normal pen blade.
I think you are on to something, that 1989 032 frame is the same as is used today (changed to be slightly shorter around 1978) but the pen blade in the 032 knives (in modern times) have gotten somewhat wider. Cases logic on that is odd to me, take a look at the 18 pattern - the main Clip Blade is much narrower today than it was in the 1970's through mid 1990's on that particular model. I guess their engineers make adjustments in the production machinery to fit their current manufacturing needs. OH

It's definitely odd that they would narrow the main blade on one pattern and broaden the secondary on another pattern.
I am very likely the majority, but I'm hesitant to call this blade a pen blade.
Most people probably consider it a pen blade but It's like an upside down drop point or something, and to me just doesn't look like the ubiquitous pen blade I'm accustomed to.

The worst part for me is that often looks like a standard pen blade from the angle the stock photos are shot at, when I got mine I was disappointed because I thought it had been poorly ground or something because it looked like a standard pen blade in the photo.

The Case Small Texas Jack was my favorite edc knife for some years, but it crashed to the floor and the pile side bone got a crack.
Did Case discontinued this pattern? I don't see it here in Europe for sale.

Maybe so? I no longer see it on the manufacturer web page nor on one of their big US retailers. They are still making the '3032 Medium Stockman on that same frame, it seems.

Thanks a lot for the info. I should have bought more, when they were available. The Texas Jack never was so popular here. Case Retailers offers lots of Trappers and Stockmans but I've rarely seen a Texas Jack.

I think the Texas Jack based on the 032 frame would be considered a Medium T.J. (just as the Medium Stockman based on the same 032 frame).
I found it interesting that the name "Small Texas Jack" only applied to the amber jigged bone CV version of the knife, which is their product number #00077. Whenever a 62032 was produced in other handle materials or blade steel, the name was usually "Medium Jack." E.g, Sunset Winterbottom Medium Jack.

The larger 6292 in CV was the "Texas Jack" with no size modifier in the name.

I have searched around on various online retail sites, and they all show either out of stock or discontinued, which makes me think that they are actually discontinued. Luckily I don't think I will wear out my 62032 CV Amber Jigged Bone Small Texas Jack in my remaining years, and I have this stainless variant, the above mentioned Sunset Winterbottom after I dyed it to a chestnut brown:

How do they discontinue the Texas jack, but still make the cheetah?
There's no way that one sells more than the 032 Texas jack.

When is a Medium Jack also a "Texas Jack" and smaller than a Small Texas Jack? Well, in the wild and wacky world of no less authority than W. R. Case & Son Cutlery Co.! I bought this 22087 Medium Jack new out of the display case from a hardware store right before Christmas in 2011. In the 2010-2011 Case Standard Product Guide it is listed as a Medium Jack, but the box labels it a Texas Jack. What is it?? OH

Time to trot out my four-jacks photo. From the top, clockwise: 62032 CV Amber Bone Small Texas Jack, 62087 SS Brown Barnboard Medium Jack, 6292 CV Texas Jack, 62032 SS Sunset Winterbottom Bone Medium Jack (not the same one I dyed, that one still looks like that).
