Current AG 110 Sheath?

Tracks mine is in my EDC rotation, but I have so many in there that it may see use once in a month.:D:D;) HL

I use an AG tan "distressed" sheath regularly. It came with one of my stag AG 110's and I'll use it for whatever I have in rotation. I just like that sheath. I have a pile of sheaths, but I'll use one I like. I'm soon to get another AG 110 and that sheath will be a "collector".

Use what pleases you. If you are worried about it, get a backup. If you like it a lot, get two backups. Goes for knives or sheaths.

Wolfdog I do have the backups, in knives and sheaths. Some of my favorite sheats are the early ones, with Buck one time on the snap in chrome { or silver color which ever you prefer to call it}. I have a few of those in still new condition as spares. Then a few in early knife boxes, with the knives. I just like to hoard them as much as I can.:D:):);) HL

Thanks a lot for the pics fellas! Very nice looking sheaths! If I'm lucky enough to get one of those it's gonna be tough for me to use it. Do you guys use yours regularly?
Yep Tracks I use mine, sometimes I carry my Vantage Avid.I always have one of the two on me.If all of a sudden I find myself in a bind,I want to have a blade on me that I know I can depend on! That split second it takes to cut a rope, seat belt or what ever the case may be could make all the difference and I want to make sure I have a knife that's up to the task.:D:thumbup:

Well I tried to find out today while at Cabelas, asked the clerk behind the counter, and he could not tell me. Let me dig through a box filled with sheaths from the display knives, but could not find one that I could say with any certainty that it went with the AG 110. I even pulled mine off my belt and held it up so he could see it, and still no true answer. He did say that mine was a different knife from the Rose wood version that they had, because it was a different color. Told him it is just a different shade color of wood. I remember at one time Cabelas displayed the knives with the sheath, and not that long ago. He did say that some of the employes just threw the box and sheath away when it was put in the display case. Makes you wonder at times! So sorry guys no true answer at this time. HL

Hi fellah's,

I've been enjoying this thread for some time. It's nice to see that some things never change....at least with the Cabelas chain. If you want a good laugh read the link to my old thread below.

If you read the thread above you will see one of our MIA Buck Brothers stepped in and covered me on my missing AG sheath (Joe H was going to have one sent to me from Buck, But, that was at the time of layoff's and it was never sent:(). This is a wonderful group of folks to be associated with. I was going to dig out some of my AG sheaths to put up some photo's, however, that's now covered!

Great story! They really should try and have knife people working behind the knife counter. Perhaps they should come and hire people from this forum. :D

Holy smokes JB what an ordeal they put you through, and sounds like you dropped a bunch of money at the store that day! I have never been to a Cabelas store, nor a BP store. You would think they would employ people that know something about the things they sell! Or at least care enough to learn. I guess I really got lucky when I called that Cabelas store in Maine and found an employee that went way above&beyond for me!:D

It can differ greatly from store to store. My closest Cabela's is in a rural area and staffed by rural people.

Can you guess what's coming?

For the most part, service is great. Cabela's has always paid better than minimum wage and also provides some health insurance. In a rural area, that brings in some darn good employees. They also tend to know a lot about hunting and fishing.

Yes, they are understaffed at times and you have to wait......but that happens at almost every kind of store these days.

I stopped at an urban Cabela's ...... ONCE ...... and found it a whole different atmosphere. Almost every employee I talked to told me a lie or gave me bad information and some didn't even have the ambition to think up any lies.....being in some sort of mumbling, hangover-induced near-comatose state, it seemed.

So, there are many factors. I do wish Cabela's had more knives to offer, but that's about the worst complaint I can make about our RURAL version. In my experience they've done a great job for me most of the time.

I had been to this store shortly after it first opened, and the attitude was completely different. I have also been to the one out side of Fort Worth, and had a very pleasent experence there. Lost count of how many BP that I have been to. Was a time that while out on a business trip if there was a BP close by we where going to check it out. Had both good and bad experiences in there also. Finally came in! And I got the sheath I was hoping for! So the photo on the Cabelas site and catalog were wrong after all and they do still come with the AG stamp on the sheath. I love this knife and it's my new edc knife hopefully for years to come. I also picked up a bucklite tool 355 on saturday at a pawn shop for 15 bucks! Been trying to carry it instead of my leatherman to see how I like it. Sorry about the link to the not so great pics. I wasn't able to get decent ones of the bucktool.

Glad it worked out for you. I sure like mine. I think it's the best Buck sheath I've ever bought on any model Buck knife.

:cool:Glad you got you're AG 110 Tracks! I was at a tactical gear store yesterday and saw a sheath that would maybe compare to the one that came with your Buck,it was $30.The steel in that knife blade is better than any folders they had. All their folders were well over $100 and up! They had nothing that could come close to the fit and finish on your Buck AG 110.They carry some high end brands that were over $200 and I wouldn't trade my AG 110 for anything they had.:D:thumbup:

I'm very happy with it myself. Was the store in the Chaparral area?

It was in El Paso Tracks,I stopped in to pick up a key holder.Since they don't sell Buck knives there,I've never bought a knife from them.
