He wouldn't let me cover shipping either ($17)... quite literally paying to be generous. All I can say is - THANK YOU C Cushing H.

It's beautiful wood that will be perfect for puukko handles, mighty kind indeed.

Oh … i had not thought about puukko’s … great idea!

I was a little upset we had to take a skill saw to the bookshelves to get them out of the room … it is such beautiful dense wood more than anything i wanted to see it used rather than going into a landfill or burned. Iwill be interested, if possible, to see some of the results that come from it.

I DID hold back eight or so pieces for myself. I think i will follow stacys advice and have them dyed (colors tbd). Colored wa handles can be a pita, but the results are beautiful!

If it's any consolation, I plan on dying them as well :) Maple takes to brown leather dye beautifully.

I will most definitely tag you upon completion! Really is beautiful wood, grateful to have it.

Ok .... now quite a giveaway .... and I am following Stacy's instructions on how to handle this within the forums rules..... This posting is to make people aware that I have just posted an item for sale (a knife sharpening system) in the forums "for sale by individuals" section under the Knife Exchange category. Please refer to that posting if you think you might be interested in such...

Another true givaway - though maybe difficult to make happen. This is an older, but still quite serviceable, Craftsman 12 inch band saw, with metal stand. Works quite well for general cutting cutting. to go with it I have (homemade) right angle cutting slide/jig (slides in the slot on the right side of the table), and a wooden right angle jig to clamp to the table for resawing. (after I move, I am wanting an upgraded bench mount saw with better resawing capabilities).

This is obviously not shippable .... but if anyone is within "spitting distance" of minneapolis and can pick it up, it is yours.....

Just a quick update on the move. We closed on the old hose yesterday ( so I am now officially homeless). today start the drive to KY (by way of Des Moines, where my son is apartment hunting). In a couple weeks will close on the new home … not sure how long it will take me to get some minimal shop capability set up
