custom 110 buckeye burl

JB--real beauty, congrats! That burl looks perfect. I have a custom 110 also, S30v, nickel, & black buffalo horn.
 
That is truly an incredibly fine knife....what a package!! Well done sir.....

I just received an email saying mine has shipped. Should have it by the weekend and if it looks as good as yours I will be very happy. I also ordered mine with the rivets, nickel, finger grooves and S30V blade.

congrats Sir. i expect youll get a nice one hopefully nicer than mine. mines light and i like the darker and mixed better on the wood.
 
Thank you. We’ll see how mine looks this weekend unless the USPS sits on it until Monday. Tracking says Saturday, though. I will post some pics when I get it to see if there is much difference between the ones we have. I’ll probably start a new thread, though. I don’t want to hijack your post with pictures of mine.

Ok, no need to start a new one then. Will put some pictures here when I get it.

This whole thing started when I asked here if I should finally use a custom shop 110 I received from my mother for Christmas or keep it in the drawer so it stays in mint condition. After finally deciding to use it, I loved it. Since then I’ve bought a few more 110s and a few 112s. I love theses knives and wish I would have started musing them a long time ago. I have knives costing much more than these, but I seem to be carrying the Buck knives 90% of the time. That clip point is so nice to use.
 
Well, I’m happy to say I received the knife and it has the darker colored scales. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It took exactly four weeks from order to my house. I will get some pictures up of it this weekend for those interested.

I was glad to see this thread come back. .Whenever I play on Bucks site building a custom 112 somehow I always end up with NS, burl , and S30V. .I so wish Buck would add a drop point to the options in ANY steel. I'm not sure if if S30V can be mirror polished but a DP S30V would be my number 1 choice in a custom. As much as I like any kind of horn highly figured wood Ironwood, walnut, Koa , it doesn't matter I find it more interesting. Burl looks great!

Thanks. I’m loving it. Debating on getting a 112 to match it. The 110 and 112 are my favorite knives now.
 
I didn't even notice this until today. I have a Custom Shop 110 that is about 14 months old. The finger grooves on this new one are much more pronounced and deeper in the handle. They also seem to start a little earlier than the old 110 knife's grooves do. I like it.
