I am located on the Coast, AEBL or Magnacut makes perfect sense to me. Tool steel blades, rust is a nemesis, even with diligent preventative care.I wouldn’t. Not on this knife.
I’d LOVE to have one of these in 5160. It just makes sense for this blade.
I’m close to a coast too. Very high humidity. Never a problem for me. Ren wax, silicone cloths, oily rag, I hit it with whatever’s handy.I am located on the Coast, AEBL or Magnacut makes perfect sense to me. Tool steel blades, rust is a nemesis, even with diligent preventative care.
Same here! Just a personal preference but I generally like carbon steel in a big blade that I may use to chop things. 5160 is good stuff. 3V is damn nice too. If it had to be stainless then give me the 420HC, i've used it a lot in the woods and it's tough as hell and won't rust on ya, just needs a little touch-up at the end of a long day sitting by the fire with a cold one.I’d LOVE to have one of these in 5160. It just makes sense for this blade.
I agree on both accountsI wouldn’t. Not on this knife.

Lol.Thank You Gary.
Maybe I should clarify. I am not a fan of the flat grind when applied to the 124, or the 119 for that matter.
Those are cool.
I’m not liking the price.I’ve been waiting for this but not liking the grind. Guess I’ll keep waiting.
124 has always been a premium offering. That combined with being a custom shop item it’s more of a nod to the 124 sickos than anything. How many other knife companies even offer this level of customization on an already niche product line? This is literally for the 18 “I love the 124 but wish I had it in magnacut” guys.I’m not liking the price.
