Custom BK-9 Wood Processing Pic Heavy.. of course

I felt like testing this new shape out with some wood batoning and chopping.
Nothing crazy!!!

The log was a bit to large so I started with some outside cuts.

The wood was pretty twisty.

Now I tried my hand at some chopping. This piece was around 3".

My hand didn't get beat up by the custom scales. Felt good.

I don't know what kind of wood it is. My neighbor down the street cut down their big ass tree and I pick this up from his sidewalk. It has been sitting on my side yard for around 6 months.

Actually yes it is bead blasted. I got it bead blasted before I re profiled the blade. From the choil area back to the end of the handle is still media blasted.
I haven't touched that area at all with any sanding blocks.
