Custom Detail

Hey everyone, I've finally taken the dive into knife photography and for my first post on Blade Forums I'd like to show you a recently completed project; "Custom Detail". Inspired by vehicle detail photography, each image shows just a few elements of the knife so you can focus on each aspect of the knife, one highly detailed image at a time to get the full effect of its hand crafted beauty.
Any feedback will be much appreciated. Enjoy!

Check out more of my work on my website: http://calebroyerstudio.com/

WOW! I can't believe I missed this thread earlier... That is incredible work on both your parts! When I have something worthy of quality photography I know where I am going.

Cheers

Ahh, so you both disappear and come back with master pieces. Somehow "Nice" doesnt cover it guys. I'm speechless.

Fantastic work Caleb. Some of the coolest knife details I've seen.
You definitely have a future doing this... and I imagine that your inbox is already filling up with emails from interested knifemakers.

Hey Caleb! Really outstanding work! Glad to see you stuck with it.

Your pics from a couple of years ago were very good, these are great. Please give my regards to your family.

Caleb fantastic work, if it wasn't so close to Blade I'd send you a couple to shoot. It will be nice to have a professional knife photographer closer to home.

I lost for words .. what of you is from another world..
My respect and all my admiration..

I will second Karl's post!

I am going to echo this point as well. When I looked at these photos, my thoughts were that you solved the problem that I have with most photos of knives -- that being that you cannot see the detail of the knife that you would be able to see if you were holding the knife.

I know many collectors who would never buy a knife based on a photo for this very reason. What you have presented here takes care of that problem as well.

Great work!

Brian

WOW!!!

These are amazing shots Caleb!!! And like Derrick pointed out, not many makers' knives could stand up to the kind of scrutiny that your shots allow.

It's kind of fascinating to think of how much impact Kyle's decision to be a knife maker has had on the career path you are headed down.

Definitely an uber talented family.
