Custom knife being made (am I getting a fair deal)?

All I can say is that I really, really hope that you don't give that guy any money; this is based on my personal values and the complete garbage that is shown above.

I suppose ymmv.
 
Please don't give that guy any money. pretty please. There are plenty of non scumbag makes out there, and on here, that will make you a nice knife that won't have any baggage with it.
 
OP, if you still plan on (shamefully) supporting this clown, then please do me a favor, and pay him in all pennies...

I'm not sure what the redish frowny face guy means, but if it's directed at me in any way supporting violence against women and or their cleavage, I feel obligated to say what I shouldn't have to; namely, I'm assuming that the young lady in the photo with Adolph Jr. there is a willing partner of his & posing for the picture in jest...now, if this is truly a picture of Adolph Jr. threatening harm against this young lady, well then, I don't really have any words for that...and no, of course I'm not OK with any of the images Adolph Jr. is a party to above....I feel like I need to have my attorney draft this comment. I don't approve of Adolph Jr. Also put me down for being staunchly anti-cancer. And puppy kicking, I'm against that too.

In all seriousness....OP, if this really is the knife maker in question....you're not going thru with this build are you?? It's your $ & it's a free county and all that, but wow man, Adolph Jr. needs some serious counseling/reprograming and he needs it pronto!

Glad to hear it. :thumbup: And I couldn't agree more with your last paragraph. Like I said earlier....there are far too many good guy makers who are far more talented...there is no reason to deal with someone who thinks that picture is funny, let alone the racist stuff. :barf:
 
If it's being made completely to your specs and not what he thinks then pay him through PayPal maybe so if it hits the fan you get money back?

I would take that money, ad look for custom makers on this site that are not him.

For that money you can get a well ground blade, with a nice finish, and no racism!
 
I'd echo what others say and check out the knife maker's section here on BF. There are many guys that will make an outstanding knife and have reputations that you can research very easily.
 
If you haven't already ordered the knife or made a commitment I would go elsewhere.

His use of white supremacist values, tough guy antics and disrespect towards women in his marketing makes me wonder how much consideration he gives his customers. That's before we even go near how despicable his values actually are.

From the few photos of his work on Facebook I am not overly impressed with his work either. Looking tacticool and stabby seems to be his focus.

As someone else pointed out, he seems to be a hobbyist or amateur. If that's the case then yes $260USD is too much to pay.

You will find something better, without the racist crap and at a lower price here.

$260USD isn't a lot to pay for a good knife from the right maker...but this guy isn't that.

Threatening the lady even pretend... then my eye moved in the lower right, Hmmm, and then 2 up the swastik rebel flag. Never even knew something like this existed. :-O

If you really need his blades, which don't look special IMHO maybe you could pay part of it for his DNA testing at ancestry.com.

I just found his Instagram and more knife pictures. It looks like he tries some different styles but it isn't any better than what we see from our member knife makers. There are also several photos of knives with inconsistent bevels, which isn't necessarily a good thing. My initial assessment stands.

Yup. Get out of dodge on that one. Too many makers on this site who are both highly skilled and have unimpeachable character to give that guy a single red cent.
 
I googled Sick Boy Knife Works and went to his FB page. There is nothing there about White Power, Nazi's, Pictures of a guy holding a knife to a woman's throat, nada, zip. Did I go to the right FB page? This guy is getting a spread in Blade Magazine.

It looks like two separate pages. The one people are talking about appears to be his personal page (?) It was the first one that came up when I did the Facebook search.
 
Same girl and guy in the photos both places. Hopefully Blade does even the most cursory amount of research on this guy. This stuff will show up.

Personally I have no fight in this, nor do I care, but I would think it would have been smart not to have those things on his page.

That is all I have to say on this, people's beliefs etc are what they are however.
