That was an excellent thread.

Pricing is a topic that I find interesting and I like to revisit it every once in awhile. That way you can get the opinions of the folks that have joined since the last go round. You also get to see if any of the older members have changed their views.

When I make a knife I try to charge what I think is fair for that knife, thats not to say some aren't priced differently. When I see a maker drop $40 dollars on a knife I wonder how they can afford to do that. When I see a new maker coming in thinking about the money they are going to make---wow JUST MAKE SURE ITS YOUR LAST OPTION IN LIFE.

I hope I'm not one of those new makers you are refering to Ken....lol.

I agree with the view though that if you think its worth it, buy it. If not, don't. From what I've seen, you get a lot of bang for your buck when it comes to the makers who sell here on the forum.

I'd make knives even if there was no money in it. Just creating a knife from a bar of steel is award enough in itself. I, of course, don't do it for a living though.
