Custom Kydex Sheath: Taco or Pancake style, which style is better?

Do you have anything mounted on your kydex though?
On most of them, no, just the sheath. I do have a drop belt loop on my Azwelke sheath for my BK9, but I can’t remember the last time I actually put it on my belt. Belt knives just get in my way when hiking, climbing etc.

Taco style is far better in my opinion. More compact. Pancake is larger than needs to be.
I know this is going to sound weird, but I kinda like that look but I don't mind either style. I think I might be able to fit large ferro rod and piggyback knife like the CRKT Minimalist all on one side on a taco style. Bk9 seems long enough.

That's awesome. Is it still in production? I was looking at the Tops Delta Eagle a while back but now they're a bit harder to find, especially where I live.

As far as I know, the TacSaw 7 isn't currently in production. (*with the exception of the "Rolling Thunder" stuff) The secondary market is still pretty hot, and probably your best bet if you want a TacSaw 7.

You and I may be "kindred".

The TOPS 107 "Steel Eagle" knives are my FAVORITES.

I've beaten the LIFE outta' my "Steel Eagles", including my 107C "Delta Class"...

Man, that is one seriously awesome knife there! I am so jealous!!! Yeah, we got good taste indeed.

I actually prefer pancake style for most knives. The ability to mount the sheath in a variety of different positions has been valuable to me in the past.

But, I am not averse to a taco style either.
I agree. And you could put pouches and have different stuff mounted on a pancake whereas not so much on a taco but I do like both styles. Might look pretty big and wide on a BK9.

That Buck does look good with a pancake style. Maybe pancake style doesn't look good on a bigger knife. I don't really know until I have it made, I've had them for smaller blades but I like both styles regardless.
I like the way a pancake sheath has positive retention without making the knife hard to draw. My Dozier personal/ sheath is as good as I've come across.

I am talking to Valhalla Custom Kydex right now and I am trying to work something out for the 27th of March. I decided to go with PANCAKE STYLE!!! YAY!! I feel that if
I wanted to at some point, I could add plates to it and have a pouch on it or something but right now I just want a sheath with one inch spacing for the rivets because
that's the spacing on the CRKT Minimalist Persian which I will piggyback this on my bk9 sheath. I just want to say thank you to y'all for y'alls input and your sharing pictures of your knives with me, I feel very honored and I think all the knives here y'all showed are pretty cool, Including that Tops Delta Eagle!!! (I'm still so jealous!!) ;) I'll still read and answer posts and stuff with you guys. This knife community ROCKS!! Thank you ALL!!
