Custom Kydex Sheath: Taco or Pancake style, which style is better?

Good choice. My BK9 as shown above is in a Valhalla sheath.
The CRKT sheaths are pretty low end, not even kydex. Maybe you should have a piggyback piece made to match from the same kydex as the BK9 sheath.....

I was thinking about that! I don't know, the one that came with my Minimalist Persian is pretty tight but it does feel like it would get brittle with the heat in the summertime. I'll ask for a quote. I can't see the picture, must be my laptop, it's slow.

Also, keep in mind that 1" spacing may severely limit your mounting options. Make sure you decide how you want to carry it and what sort of belt attachment you will be using and see what it requires before you order. Mine has a multi position locking clip that uses 3/4" spacing. The rivets are 1 1/2 spacing on the sheath.
