I just ordered two Direware SOLOs.

I've finally entered the custom market.
It's all downhill from here, I understand...

Somebody buy all of my knives so I don't have to sell a kidney.

To make this thread worth existing, I suppose I'll ask everyone something interesting.
What do you guys have on order? Custom or not, what are you expecting in the mail?
I have to wait an excruciating 8 months for mine, I want to know that there are others that share my strife in both finances and patience.

Great stuff man! I just started taking the dive into customs as well. I have a Robertson El patron ti folder in 3v on order. Just bought my first Will Zermeno Pointman flipper, three sisters forge beast, and looking at buying a Sacha Theil ppt, and Igor Shirogorov flipper. I've been selling off my collection to afford a lot of my customs.

Wow, I couldn't even imagine waiting that long for a certain knife. I'd sure as hell hope i'd still like or need it when I finally got it!
 
Hopefully the CF M390 Military I got off the exchange, will be here today. Grats on your knives. I haven't taken the custom dive...yet...
 
Congrats on the first custom! I should be getting my lefty friendly El Patron in 3V by Calavera Cutlery tomorrow. Here is a pic from his webiste.

I have 3 currently on order:

Alan Davis custom flipper
Jake Hoback A15 Alpha
JBS Wharny

The Alan Davis was the first custom I have ever ordered and that was a month ago (wait time is 4-6 months). The Hoback won't be here until sometime next year and the JBS is 1-2 months out.

The wait is hard on all of them for sure!!!
 
I have a TRC in the mail, nothing fancy but it's nice. I have a few custom fbs, but no folders yet. Currently trying to sell some of my collection to fund a Brian Tighe Breaker or an Elishewitz of some sort.

I have a direware on order as well, solo v2. Supposed to be ready about November, I ordered it in June.
 
When I spoke to Eric he said he's already building the V3, so I don't know if I'm getting the V2 or the V3. Either way, I don't think I'd be disappointed. I've been admiring Eric's work for a while now, I just finally decided that I'm ready to own it. I got one with a bronze tumbled full titanium handle and a dark tumbled blade, and the other with a beadblasted full titanium handle and a satin blade, both plain edge non-flipper. I'm so excited, the next 8 months are gonna be tough.
 
bronze tumbled with dark blade here as well, best looking one of the bunch imo. Didnt know there was a v3 coming out.

Well I just ordered mine last night, so it must be pretty recent news. He didn't say anything about it until I started asking about the blade differences between the V1 and V2. I asked him if he had any details on V3 yet or if my order was for a V3 or V2 and he hasn't answered, so I don't know anything about it.

And I agree on the bronze/dark combo too man, it looks ancient, I love it haha. But I wanted another that looked more like a modern, high end custom folder so I did the beadblast/satin too so I could have DOUBLE THE SOLO in a variety of flavors :thumbup:

Mine should be here in April, if my calculations are correct. I have to refrain from any other knife purchases between now and then though, so I can have enough saved up when the time comes to pay.
 
I hear ya, I've got the $600 set aside for it. your second one sounds good, nice contrast to the bronze/dark. My original order was for the carbon fiber handles and dark blade but the bronze kept calling me back so I emailed him the next day and asked to switch.
 
I have a large sebenza on the way, at some point I will have to cough up enough money for a direwear solo. I absolutely love the knife, please post pics when it arrives.
 
I might just email him again to make sure, I had a day where my server was acting a little weird and didn't send some things, I want to make sure my emails to him weren't some of those.

And Matt, I definitely will, if you don't mind the wait haha
