Custom Shop 112 Options!!!!!

hee hee hee

i no longer make a-ss-u-me things cause the very tame thing happen to me!

Slightly OT here, but does anyone here know if the walnut scales are sealed? I was thinking of trying to stain a CS 112 with these darker to try to match it to an African Blackwood fixed blade I own.

i dont think the walnut is sealed.. but i have been wrong before..
i am sure also the store will not know ... may hap you get lucky and some one here has one and knows!

not to change the subject to much eather...
if you want stag order NOW ...
Buck is almost out and it is going up in price!!!

Well. it was a tough call but I;m going with the smooth bufflo horn,SERRATIONS,NS,black oxide coated 420,no rivits, engraved blade and bolsters, finger grouves, tan sheath...Hmmm I wonder if they would make it 'bald-headed' ?? Do they have over 200 ordered yet??? October is going fast so get your order in!!!No brainer the CS 112's will be MORE COLLECTABLE than many recent LE editions..My best guess will be under 500 total.............THANKS BUCK FOR MAKING THEM !!!!!!!!!!!111111

I just visited with Pete and while he didn't know the exact number of orders to date for custom 112's, he said he thought it was somewhere around 20, so unless there is a tremendous rush in the next 10 days, the number is apparently going to be very small. And with that small number, it would seem (at least to me) that it will not be very likely that the custom shop will be offering additional model numbers in the future. :(

Don't get me wrong i appreciate that they set this up but If they had offered them just a few months before this story would have been different.
They just picked about the worst economic time to offer these.
If they had been available back in may/june/july i would have jumped at the chance.
I was set to order a custom 110 back then but thats when that pricing snafu occurred with the custom shop.
I still might scrape some cash together and get in an 112 custom order, just under the wire.

I'd be really curious to know whether the sale of the custom 110's have slumped since all this turmoil began.

I'm in for 4 of them:thumbup:. They were basically at that number of orders after the first week. How disappointing:grumpy:

I agree that CJ may not wish to make this little foray again. The BCCI G-10s were slow to move also.

I hope there is a last minute surge in orders.

I have a 110 from the custom shop with walnut scales. It may not be sealed but there are several layers of polyurethane or something like it on the wood.

Well, there is one other problem IMHO also, and that is that the 112 was never listed/advertized on their website, so unless one is/was a regular here, he most likely never even knew 112's were available.

To all Buck collectors !! When word gets out ...[ think Hemi convertable]..... MANY will wish they had ordered !!!!! CJ,Chuck, and all at Buck..THANKS AGAIN !!!!! I know you are making them because we have asked for so long... I will always treasure mine and will proudly display them in Alanta this spring. A Custom shop 112 will not just be a rare bit of American art,but a proud [tho brief ] moment in Bucks history and it's dedication to it's customers....

You're lucky! :( The only knives I find at estate sales or garage sales are crap and not worth spending good money on. Same holds true for knives that may show up in second hand stores as well.

Thanks,
