Well, I'd really like a nice 315 - with the Marlin spike. That may be too much to ask for.

My previous lament, re my old C S 110 order, should have a happy ending. I talked to Pete yesterday - my 110 was promised by last Friday. He said maybe this week - probably by next Friday. I called back after I mulled it over a bit, determined to cancel the order. I bent the poor lady's ear who had the misfortune of answering their phone during lunch. She promised to do 'something'. Pete called me today - my knife is finished and on it's way. Then he asked me how I wanted it shipped, so maybe it's close to leaving. I'll look for it next week, being the eternal optimist.

What would I really like to 'see' from the Custom Shop? Realistic delivery dates. Better to project three months and deliver in one than the reverse. Still, they are a value. Of course, the $11 closeout 'Collector's Tin' 110s at Wally World after-Christmas sales are also near perfection - their work on 110s is impeccable.

there is a lot of discussion on what models many want from the custom shop..
... what would you like to see as your top 3 or 4 model numbers of choice from the custom shop? jest wandering of model numbers now not how they are customized ..
i like :
111
110
124
some USA slippie to start new collection on ..
in that order of preference

Buck Custom shop is better than a lot of Custom knife makers on their delivery,I am on year 3 of an 8 year wait on some knives and 1 year left on a 3 year wait on another maker(18 month projected).

Re multi-year waits - were you advised of that 'up front', or did it become open-ended? There is a difference. I'll never give the Custom Shop anything but accolades as to their work. Of course, production 110s are nearly perfect 'as delivered', too. I know of no knives worth a 12 month wait - to me. YMMV.

Whoa.......you're comparing apples with oranges.

Comparing the mass produced semi-customs that Buck makes with actual customs is a totally invalid comparison.

A lot of 'custom' knife makers are closer to Buck than you might first think.....

You are very inexperienced in Custom knives.

It ain't McDonald's....the knives I ordered on the 8 year wait are
mass produced ,blades are cut out by machines and he puts the grind on them and he only takes orders if he knows you...he is a one man show and full time....just as Bucks are, although I think Joe is helping out when he can.The other Custom maker I order from does not take any more orders untill he catches up in about 4 years,he makes his own blades.

A few months wait from Buck is fast and I am sure they would prefer to deliver faster.
Fit and finish on a Custom takes longer, demand slows the process of getting a Custom to you or anyone down.....considerbly.

do any of you feel there would be a market for
a matching 120 & 110..? OR
a matching 112 and 119 combo?
either in a super steel as users
or handle material as show off's ?
what of a combo sheath for the set?

some how i feel the time lag for some thing from buck is at its worse,
still reasonable. but enough said on that ...
