custom shop has magnacut for 110, 112, 113, 119, 501 and 722

It looks like MagnaCut is a $50 upgrade on the 110 and $75 upgrade on the 113 and 119. My ideal 113 gets a little pricy at $280 with MagnaCut, nickel bolsters, and elk handles.

That's the first thing I practice built, same everything! A little pricey indeed, though.

Yeah, I opened that e-mail & thought, "Uh-ohhh! This is gonna get expensive."

I've been waiting on the Magnacut custom option for 112 & 110. By "more coming" I assume a 112 is going to be offered.
Hopefully 112 will come soon! 🤞

One 110 Magnacut, with oak covers, and brass bolsters- in the works.:)
Sweet! I think that will look great, oak and brass. 👍

I'm just glad they didn't release it for the 112 yet. Lol, one day after my S30V custom ships.

That actually happened with the mini Deploy, I finally ordered it and the day it shipped, Buck's site came out with the Wharncliffe mini deploy!

I built the same one myself.

I really don't see the point in an upgraded steel for a knife that will only be displayed.

However I missed out on the 110 offerings and always wished I had one for a user.
I wonder why they don't have Black Palm Wood as an option for the 110.

Oh, snap... just when I thought I'd be able to give my credit card a rest, since I haven't been enamored with the last few BOTM's. Well... since my 71st b'day is 4 weeks away, I may as well get my order in and hope it arrives in time to celebrate :)
That would make a great b-day gift for yourself. Just curious, what were you thinking of if u don't mind my asking?

Does anyone already have a Buck knife in Magnacut? If so, how does the steel perform in comparison to Magnacut from other brands?*

Regardless, I am glad that they will now be offering something other than 420HC and S30V.

*yes, I know that the endless debate over steel performance is almost irrelevant as most end users honestly will not be able to notice the difference in performance during normal use and any measurable differences are primarily reliant on the prowess of the manufacturer's heat treatment and cautious grinding to avoid burning the edge. Notwithstanding that, we are knife knuts and minute improvements obviously matter to us.

Now, all I need is the Magnacut 112 that I've been waiting patiently for the custom shop to offer, and I'll never need to buy another knife.

The 113 in Magnacut sounds nice, though. Well, and maybe a 119.
:)
If my first Custom Shop 112 blows my mind. I may pull the trigger on a Water Buffalo 112 in Magnacut if/when it becomes available. Or..... 110 Elk Magnacut......

Well... I'm a 119 junkie in a big way, so it would be a 119 magnacut, ironwood handle and brass guard/pommel. I wish the Buckeye burl was still an option for a handle... as you can see, I'm kinda partial to that. The 119 & 110 are custom shop, I did the 124 myself. But Ironwood is great runner-up, I have few knives with that too.

I have a couple magnacut knives from Buck and they seem to perform just as you’d expect them to. I’ve not really tested them too much to where I even needed to sharpen them, but I think Buck did a great job with it. Hopefully this fall I can get out and do some camping and enjoy them some more. I’m very happy with mine so far.

I got my first 110 about 50 years ago, and I still carry it, but lately I've been drawn to the size of the 112. I like the classics, and never had a problem with Buck's 420HC or 440 steels, but 110s & 112s with a steel upgrade to Magnacut is a great big plus, as far as I'm concerned.
