I noticed that too about a week ago. Didn’t place an order as a result.I was playing around on the custom builder today and noticed the option for rivets on elk is no longer available, in case anyone was considering that.
I wasn't planning to order anything soon, but that config was definitely on my list. Bummer.I noticed that too about a week ago. Didn’t place an order as a result.
I'm sure it'll look great. I've built many knives using ironwood on Buck's custom site, but I just never hit the "Add To Cart" button.Anyone have pictures of the 501 in ironwood? I’m wanting to get a Magnacut 501, but they’re sadly no longer offering the buckeye burl.
I’m agonizing over this decision. At different times I have had it in the cart with elk, water buffalo and iron wood.I'm sure it'll look great. I've built many knives using ironwood on Buck's custom site, but I just never hit the "Add To Cart" button.I always ended up going with the $0 woods.
I would ask, all they could do is say noDoes anyone know if the custom shop takes special requests about scales?
I don't think you'll be disappointed. I have several production Bucks, and I've never had any QC issues with them, but the two from the custom shop are special. After all of that wavering between ironwood and buffalo, when I went to place the order I ended up choosing elk! Magnacut, elk, no rivets. It'll be my Christmas present to myself, but it won't be here until late January. I guess something to look forward to in the new year.
I love all of my 501’s and carry one every day. My first was a custom shop in s30v and walnut Dymondwood, then I picked up a pristine 1977-1979 Old Script on the auction site, and finally my pride and joy: a custom shop in s30v and buckeye burl. I think this Magnacut and elk will be a nice addition to the collection.I don't think you'll be disappointed. I have several production Bucks, and I've never had any QC issues with them, but the two from the custom shop are special.
one reason why i collect buck and always order a custom buck is bucks warranty and no no sense approach a while back i order a custom 110 and jeff hubbard took care of the return. turns out the custom 110 was rushed abd had a horrivle gap between wood and bolsters. buck drop the ball while maki g it but made it right . go buck. Please send me a message with your order number so I can get a pre paid label to get that back here.
Back from the custom shop,Buck Knives Inc. really did me right with this! Thank you, Matt!
Found this in the mailbox on Saturday, and am super pleased with this one… very well put together, really nice grind, and killer ironwood handles. Really going to enjoy carrying this one for a long time!
