Custom Slimline Trappers

That bone sure looks old. Interesting shield too. 4" closed? Must be knice to have knives coming in just in time for a Merry Knifey Christmas!

Should be just over as I recall. (And it sure beats a couple of lumps of coal. ;))

I'm still a little new, Don is who?

Elliott: what type of bone is used on those scales?

Thanks,
David

Don is "Don Hanson", ABS Master Smith (He is a regular around this forum as well as the Custom Knives forum.) He makes extraordinarily nice knives (and great forged damascus and carbon steel).

The bone is "old". :p
That's really all I know. (Even John couldn't remember where he got it or from whence it derived.)

Here's kind of an unusual one that Ken Coats made for me. It's a lot less pristine now.

James,

How do you use the Spey blade on that pretty Coats?

Thanks,

David,

Sorry I missed your question 'til now. Do you mean what do I use it for? Well, to be honest, I use it for its original purpose. I used it last Spring for ear-marking calves and castrating a couple of bull calves.

Hi James,

Yes, that was exactly what I meant. Glad to hear that it is being used as intended.

Best,
David
