I like the sowbelly a lot because I asked Bret to knock the spine of the clip down, shaped it more like a muskrat-clip blade. When closed it matches the spine of the skinner blade so it’s real smooth feeling to the hand and I think it just gives it a sleeker look overall. He hammered the pins too.

What size is your drop point backpocket, 4.5”? That’s one sexy knife, not only for the rag micarta but how well the blade fits the handle profile.
I think it is 4 3/8”, would have to double check. He really nailed that one and the jimping/rounded spine are a great little detail.

I had my walnut LC done with a rounded spine and jimping but it’s hard to see in those pics. I had checked out the Case/Bose Wilfred lockback (Rem. 1306) about a year after it came out and was in the beginning stages with Bret on the LC and thought that would be cool to have added to the pattern. It’s always fun to get something just a little different, I don’t think he’s done many knives at all with that feature.

I still have the pic from when I got it in the mail!

A couple of Ray Cover pieces. I've been carrying the Canoe the past few days.

When I took this picture in 2020, Ray told me that he had about 20 heat treated blades on hand and when he finished making knives from those, he was going to retire. I can only assume that he has accomplished that by now.

Boy's knife. 8670 Carbon steel, ironwood scales, SS liners/shield, no washers/relieved liners. Modified off of a Sheffield novelty souvenir knife pattern. This is one I grabbed from my scrap bucket and redid the liners/scales/bolsters for practice. I dulled the blade to work on it and needs resharpening.
