Django606 Django606 Many thanks, thanks too for generating this thread, I was surprised that Customs hadn't been shown & discussed before. Hiroaki Ohta offered me 3 different choices of Stag when he made this, a very reliable and polite artisan cutler. I agree, the Bar shield is simple but right on this type of Barehead.

Regards, Will

Apologies on interjecting and hijacking this thread, but I noticed this is a mix of custom knives and knives people here have customized themselves. I'm interesting in seeing knives that people here have modded themselves, traditional of course. For example, cover material swaps, old decrepit knives that have been rebuilt, etc.

Is there a thread dedicated to this? Or, is there a better site to consume this type of media? I'm most interested in seeing restorations of old slipjoints. I'm "new" to the forum, and didn't have much success with searching.

Wow, I’ve not seen this one before. Very cool!
Thanks Joshua, Stan was a foreman, at Wostenholm, when they made up a large Stockman, with wooden covers, for Schrade. A couple of years before he made this knife for me, Mrs Slater, who was the last of the Slater cutlery dynasty, and who Stan had also worked for, gave him a few blades she had from that knife, so he made me one up, with Buffalo Horn covers :)

Welcome to Traditionals :) I think there is an existing thread, but I'm afraid I don't recollect the title. Perhaps someone else knows? If not, I guess you could always start one
Jack Black Jack Black I love your Tod Cutler stuff. I have a mace from him I need to sneak into this sub-forum somehow. 😄
Thanks a lot :) I have one of his mace heads sitting on my coffee table, which I attend to use on a walking stick at some point :D I smuggled it onto a pic by using it to prop up my knife :D ;)
