CUSTOM WSK's????

The steel is 5160...the coating is powder-coating with copper in the mix (proprietary). Thanks!

Dan, that is a really cool look, Bro!!! I like it. Moosemaster, awesome stuff, I really like it, It looks like you made the draw knife a little longer than some of the other WSK patterns out there...did you shorten the ricasso or lengthen the blade? Or..am I just wrong..lol. Great stuff guys.

who on the forum knows how it get in touch with roger linger. his email is no longer valid and all the contact info he has for me has changed since i moved. roger if your out there contact me through the forum so i can give you my new address and phone number.

Here is my WSK, which I made on my own:D . And I think in combination with the Vic its a very good set-up.
What do you think?

And here with my kydex sheth

Ede, I like it a lot, since it does not have a saw back. Looks like you a have a good combo set up there!:thumbup:

Thanks barny, I don´t like a saw back on a knive and the saw on the sak (or my sak one hand tracker) is much better, than the saw I could make by my selve.
I love the Design of the WSK and I did not think that it performs that good.

Here is that set completed

Mr Moosemaster,
Do you have a website? Where can I get information on your WSK set?

MooseMaster,
Thanks for the email. Can you please post a close up photo of your WSK's saw "teeth"

Thanks - Ron

Wow, I just finished my TOPS rework today and was ready to post pics on its own, well, this well fit the thread....I finally got off my butt and reworked the convex edge in the front, and polished it to a razor edge. I smoothed out the draw knife and polished the whole thing, basically smoothing the ruff edges and giving it a better look...I am happy with it now.

G&Knut,
That is some very fine work you performed on the TOP Tracker. It looks very useable now.

The difference in performance is BIG. I am thinking about doing this again, buying another TOPS and starting over, I think the next one will be alot easier. BUT...I feel confident that I could make one from scratch after figuring out the grinds on this one...Maybe I should make some from scratch, anyone wanna supply some steel...like 1/4 O1:D

did you use a file or grinder to reprofile the Tracker?

After removing the handles, I started by lining out the new profile with a sharpy...after I removed the finish of course. I then slowly ground the profile out...then started the edge process, using horizontal and vertical sanders. I used a file on the softer area near the handle. I finished the knife by first sanding the ruff spots out and then hand rubbing the rest, finally using a polish at the end, then I hit the strop for the edge and was done. I could have gone on and on with the polish, but its for me and a user...so I stopped after I thought it looked good...It still shows alot of the machine marks on close inspection, but who cares.
