Christmas came early!

Earlier this year, I sent off two 112 knives to Buck. One was an old knife bought at an "antique shop". It had been well used by someone and came to me as a gist. I sent it off and Buck gave it their Spa treatment. It is now fully functional and exists as the best k life it can be.

The other knife was one I b ought and foolishly disassembled with the idea of replacing the scales myself with something different . . .and that never happened . . .and I lost the back space piece. Buck rebuilt he knife and it arrived today as good as new.

Altogether it cost me ~$36 and a few months.

Kudos to Buck customer service!

Umm. . .Why oh why would I get the blade blacked out on a non-tactical, everyday sort of pocket knife for urban carry and use?

Pffffft, you don’t want to trigger someone with the glare off a Magnacut blade, Buck has made several 112 variants with the blackout style to keep you in the shadows!

Notice the “a” in Magnacut.

I have at least one maybe coming in this week from reblade and a spa.
This is the one that was getting a new blade. I post the after pics when I get it back

Years ago I had a small issue with a 301. Called, spoke to a very nice gal and she promptly sent me a replacement. I asked her where I should send the original, she told me there was no need to send it in and that I should keep them both. I did.

I was very impressed.

So wait…. For years I’ve had a buck 110 that I let my cousin borrow on a deer hunt and for some reason he used it to hammer through a breast bone. I mean beat the living crap out of the back of it with a rock.

All I have to do even though it wasn’t their fault is let them know what happened and it can be fixed? I’ve thought about grinding out the beat up spots for years but always got sick looking at it. I use my knives but Jeez ask me before you hammer it with a rock

Yep! You can mail in your knife and they will replace blades, fix the wood scales, clean up the frames and send you back a pretty nice looking knife! Look on the Buck website for the form you send with the knife that lists what work you’d like done. If the knife falls outside of what miracles they do, they’ll call or email you explaining that. It’s a very simple process.

I got this on back today from a blade replacement and spa. The knife in the befopre pic was my knife when I was a Merchant Marine Cadet and an officer for many years. I worked in the Engineroom and had to cut valve packings, gaskets, loads of rope (we call them lines), wires, .....whatever I needed to cut.
Fast forward and I just got the knife back from spa. It looks great, feels great, the action is close to perfect. The edge bevel is a bit uneven but I can fix that. It a new knife for 17 bucks. I told them it was a sentimental knife due to its history with me so the y sent back the old blade. The cracked scale was replaced. Im stoked. I also sent them a 2 dot 112 I'll post that later.

I sent my 1980’s model back to them. It was carried by my supervisor when we worked together. I saw it and told him he should send it in to them for the “treatment”. He wasn’t interested and told me to keep it. He has too many. I sent it to them. They tightened the scales brushed and sharpened the blade , and polished the bolsters. Good as new. Too bad they couldn’t replace the holster. The belt loop is a flap now
