Customer Service Resolved all issues on a 560!!

I believe mley was apologizing to Thomas personally, not to the company as a whole. Maybe because he realizes that it's not Thomas's fault?

All you're doing with your posts is stirring shit up for no reason.

I think RD said best. Read more, post less..

I doubt he (thomas) thought the o.p was blaming him.

You do know what they say about ASSuming right? Besides, what dog do you have in this race anyway?

Yup.....and why would he blame thomas anyways? And this is a open forum....right! I'm saying what I want, just like you.

Fwiw...got my 0561 today. Way sooner than I expected and fixed up right. No more blade play in any direction and dead centered. Everyone at kershaw/ZT -ms. Shanafelt, Thomas, Jim, thank you guys so much

Nice...just the way it should have left the factory.

Yep just like 99+% of the time...Now as to what we see back from customers as "defective" and their expectations...meh that's for another thread.

How much help was the R&D of the 0551 on the 0560 project? I know you guys had a few tweaks and changes and a bit of a learning curve with it (the 0551). I'm assuming this helped out quite a bit with the production of the 0560? My 0560 is also part of the 99% of perfect knives.

Do elaborate Thomas. I often wonder what manufacturers consider as defective or customers just being picky.

I think a simple fact that a few of you are ignoring is that these are production knives. You're not shelling out $600 for a custom flipper, that is given individual maker-attention. ZT is producing hundreds of these knives, if not more, and there are bound to be one or two that are overlooked by QC. But thats what your $260 buys, a production folder; and you know this going in. ZT has the upstanding reputation that they do, because through time and trial, they have worked with customers, and fixed the FEW errors that happen to occur. The fact that they are willing to work with you and make it right (because not all production companies will) speaks volumes to the integrity and standards upheld by their company. I personally have never received a knife that needed to be sent in to correct a defect (lol except for my umumzaan, but as it turns out, the lockbar was spot on to begin with), but if i did, i wouldnt flame the company unless they refused to make it right. Its easy to understand your frustration, no one wants to anxiously wait for the arrival of a new blade just find out its DOA, but when you buy a production folder, thats a chance you're knowingly taking, and ZT happens to produce some of the best production tools available IMO. Personally, i cant wait for my 0561 to arrive, and if it gets here with problems, sure I'll be irritated, but I have confidence ZT will take of of it, or replace the blade. I hope it comes back to you with all issues addressed; third times a charm bud!

Well...people are used to having kershaw and zt coming out perfect.....

Like glocks.....some people are trashing them since the new gens came out, cause of a few problems....why? Cause glocks are known for going bang right out of the box. Like AK's...on most fit and finish are like ass, and people deal with it.....would the people be the same with ar's??? ;)

I think it says alot about a company when they have a representative interact with their customer base the way KAI/ZT does here on this board. I personally feel more comfortable buying a product from a company that has people who care enough to do this.

I have never owned a Kershaw or ZT knife. I will fix that as soon as I find a 0561 for sale.

I like seeing this level of customer service. The OPs knife should not have been sent back like that but it would be hard to control everything every employee does.
I just got my 0550 from Kershawguy yesterday and I can not find one single little thing wrong with it except for some very slight side to side blade play. That was fixed with a tiny amount of tightening to the pivot.I am sure the person that put it together was looking for the right amount of tension on the blade and did not even feel the play as it was so small.Loving this knife.

I got my 0560 back today from ZT. Customer Service has resolved ALL issues wrong with the knife. It came back with a new Ti lock side scale that looks perfect. Lock up on the knife is spot on, and solid. Blade is centered perfectly. ZT took care of EVERYTHING. And, they got my knife back to me very fast. I can't say enough how much I appreciate the help Brittany gave me. She was absolutely wonderful. And, a big thank you to Jim McNair, and the whole crew at ZT. They took care of business, and got'r'done.

The new scale is one of the new bead blasted ones. I really like it's looks.

And, the lockup looks good, and is solid with no blade play.

BTW, the knife flips buttery smooth now. No stickiness, no rough edges anywhere. It's action is just buttery smooth. The detent works great and as it should. I don't know how it could have been made any better. Very well done.
