Hello again,
I would like to know what experiences you forumites have had, both good and bad.
I've heard good thing's about makers like Strider and Busse. I only ask because from what I've witnessed, a good customer service reputation/warrenty is as much a valid selling point as the product it'self. I recently had to send somthing in to SOG, and It was made as painless as possible.

Buck. Buck. Buck.

I have never seen a company with such service. Break a tip off a knife doing something stupid? They'll replace it. CRKT wouldn't even repair one for me for a fee.

Buck rep had their leatherwork shop make 4 left handed sheaths for me, at below the normal cost.

I can't speak for Spyderco, I hear they're good, but Buck customer service is the best I have ever seen for ANY company, not just knives.

Peace,

Al Folsom

The only company that I have had do service on a knife were Spyderco and they were great. No qyestions asked, they just fixed the problem under warranty. I can't say enough good things about Spyderco's customer service.

Spyderco!
They fixed my problem easily, quickly, and nicely. I am 100% satisfied and am 100% confident in their products!

CRKT will replace anything, no questions asked, EXCEPT a broken tip. So if you snap the tip off, just break it some more and then send it in

If you have a local cutlery shop that deals in CRKT they should take it and hand you a new one no questions asked. Chesapeake Knife and Tool will do that where I live. YMMV

I have recently had a great experience with MOD. I had a Trident for a few months. I read on another post were someone had one that failed the spine wack test. I tried it and mine failed. I called MOD and they said that they had switched to a different liner lock to correct the problem. Well, I sent them my old, used Trident and a week later they sent me back a brand new one. That is great customer service.

That would be Spyderco!

I had to replace a clip on my Microtech UDT, their customer service was great to deal with! I e-mailed them my request and three days later I had a replacement clip and screws waiting in my mailbox.

Spyderco seem's to deserve the award (I don't actually have an award, but if I did...) SOG has gone above and beyond in my book as well. Keep up the good work.

I needed to replace the clips on my Microtech LCC manaual and dual action. Microtech sent two clips out immediately at no charge!

I think the responses show that most of the manufacturers are honorable and concerned.

Custom makers. It's hard to have a personal relationship with a company. Most of the really fine makers are also really fine people who stand behind their work as a matter of pride. Some companies, like CRK, are good, but that's really the custom maker in them coming through.

Spyderco Spyderco Spyderco!!!

Sent me free clips, without even asking me to pay! Yes I did offer to pay right from the word go.

I can't speak about any of the other manufacturers, but I have used Buck's and their customer service is second to none!
