Hi,

I have a CRK held in customs in Canada since february the 16th.....Is it normal to have such a long delay?
Thanks for your comments

It happens. I shipped a Techno to the U.S. and it was held in U.S. customs for 22 days. I don't track so I don't know but it isn't uncommon to wait a month to get a knife. I am assuming some of that time is in customs.

^ It does happen, customs can take a while, it just depends. I have had some a few weeks, and some a few days.

Yup, I just waited a long time for a manix to clear customs. Abnormally normal these days for knives to be held in customs for long periods of time.

I have been lucky, it seems. Dozens without a hold longer than a day. Everything was properly labeled, though, so the worst that happened was that I was charged the standard taxes.

I shipped a knife to Italy recently, it's been stuck in their customs a week now, too, so you're not alone.

"Worst" experience was Austria...but that wasn't even that bad...under 2 weeks.

So from the 16th till now is not too abusive, IMHO...

My experience, is that your parcel will break out of there when you least expect it and get back on it's merry way.

At any rate, about all you can do is wait...so take a little comfort in knowing you're not alone.

I sent a $2500 knife to Canada. It was seized by customs. Never recieved my money or the knife back.

Lesson is..Never ship to Canada unless you get gift payment from Canadian buyer! Or just don't ship to Canada period.

wow that was one hell of a loss and you shouldnt of lost out, once you ship then its our reaponsibility on what could possibly happen in customs. What was the knife in question that was seized? If it was a flipper then yea Canadian customs are pretty iffy on them!

It was just a folder and not a flipper. But it had some ivory in it which they said was illegal ( legal ivory with paperwork or any ivory is illegal in Canada). I could not get the knife returned to me.
