Sad to say but that's just the case.

They are, by what I can determine from comments here, a very good dealer. Selection and prices look to be real nice. And they mention that they can ship abroad, which would be great from my perspective.

However, I had some technical difficulty registering as a customer. So I tried to contact them, by e-mail, to see if anything can be done about it. It's been two weeks now and three e-mails, and nothing has been heard back.

I know it's a busy time of year right now, but how long does it take to type "Sorry, very busy right now, but we'll look into it later ok" ? Two weeks should be enough. And yes, phone calls work better than e-mail sometimes, but that's not an option here. I will not pay for foreign call charges just because a dealer can't or won't read and respond to email.

Not a huge issue, and I'm not going to sweat too much over some 30 $ potential saving on price. But my business will go elsewhere I'm afraid.

A little update is in order since Cutlery Shoppe has earned a point back!

Was recently checking the site for some reference and noticed that the technical issue I had with registration has been corrected. To be more exact, the list of countries selectable for shipping address is now functioning. Didn't work back in December which was frustrating.

Well, actually I never did hear anything back from them so my original complaint is still in place (:D) but of course that's pretty insignificant now.

The good and important part is that now they are back on the list of dealers available to me and I'm able to buy from there if I so choose.

(Old thread, but I felt I should post this because it would be unfair to have criticised and then later not give credit where it's due.)

drop Jeff an email.....he's always been rather prompt in responding. If I don't hear from him in a couple days, I'll send a reminder and Jeff will respond rather immediately after that.

CS is GTG in my books.

Yep their rep is good and I believe that is for a reason.

Was slightly miffed back in December because of total lack of reply.. could have been just Christmas time chaos of course.

But like I said, they fixed the problem I encountered and that makes them ok in my book. :)

I am also an int'l customer, and had the same issue. But, got a prompt response from Jeff giving an alternate option - put the "shipping address" to that of Cutlery Shoppe, and let us know via email/paypal communication about the real address. Sweet and simple! :-)

Good to know that we now actually have a list of countries to select from - they have been the best dealer till now for me.

I've never had a problem with Jeff. He is good to go in my list of many dealers. Yes I like all types of knives so I have many dealers I choose from.

The only reason I was in this sub-forum was to check for a thread on Cutlery Shoppe because I wanted to leave them some positive feedback.

I've done 2 transactions with Jeff in the past few months. Both times, my order came in 3 days after placement. Last week I made an order, and I haven't gotten a shipping notice like I usually do. I emailed him last night at 11pm and got a response at 8am saying that he was waiting on one of the items to come in, and that it is now in shipping. That's awesome response time.
